Season Ticket Holders-
Ohio Basketball has advanced to the CIT quarterfinals! Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 pm on Wednesday (March 26) inside the Convo. The opponent is TBA and will be announced on Monday night.

All tickets for the game are $10 each. You can purchase yours online here by clicking here or by calling 800-575-2287.

As a season ticket holder, you have the first opportunity to reserve your seat location for the game. This “early reservation” deadline will close Tuesday (March 25) at 2 p.m. After that, all seats will open for sale to the general public. You will be allocated into your season ticket location automatically once your order is placed through the online system.

Parking at the game will be free of charge. Fans may park in the lots located behind the Convocation Center (lots 127/128).

Reserved tickets will be available for purchase on gameday for $10, as available. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. Season ticket holders should be aware that they will not be able to request their season ticket location on gameday.

Go Bobcats!

Glad to see the University continue to step up.  We don't even have an opponent yet and they are ensuring that it's a home game.  Even if we've lost money on doing this it's been a Win-Win.

Let's win the CIT!

As long as we can bring 3K fans into the Convo we should be able to keep the games here. Looking at the other games played in the CIT we are 2K over their average attendance. Cost of a home game minus the $$ saved not traveling should about zero out the bottom line if we keep buying tickets.

Super! Totally enjoying this run, free parking rules! Haha! Hopefully a better student turn out on a Fest Free Wednseday eve, or should I say let the "Convo-Fest" continue! Great job Ohio keeping this at home!

The traveling team has all traveling expenses paid for by the CIT (with a portion of the home team's fee), which is why some teams chose to go that route. I still like that we want to bring these games to Athens, which is why I hope that if our fans are not able to make it to the games, they will consider a small donation and list CIT Tournament under the reason for donation. Or consider purchasing a few tickets in the nosebleeds. :)

I cannot imagine the University is losing too much on this deal, if not making money.

Assuming the CIT fee is between 30k and 40k, even if you assume only 2500 of the 3k-4k in attendance was actually paid ($10) that is still 25,000 right there. Then you have whatever revenue we generate from concessions. Obviously you have some expenses associated with running that but I doubt we are losing money there.

Hopefully we continue advancing and as that happens attendance will head up towards our average.

Also doesn't take into account all the money Athens makes when people eat at the restaurants, stop for gas in town, buy merchandise at the stores uptown..

Yes, that is correct. I only meant that if you can't make it to the game but want to support this effort, you could buy a nosebleed seat(s) to support. I've liked that our fans that show up to the game have been packed in the sections closer to the floor. If you aren't going to have a larger crowd, at least it makes for a better atmosphere.

Did you specify nosebleeds when you called in? Thinking I might be invisible myself.

Glad they can get seats down low as well - because the season ticket holders attendance down low 1st two games has been ATROCIOUS! I have felt like I walked into the wrong arena last couple games - who are all these folks around me? Glad they are here/coming!

Bobcat Black season ticket holders have the opportunity to reserve their regular seats through Tuesday at 2:00 pm. After that, the remaining black seats are open for purchase to all Bobcat Black season ticket holders who may want additional seats. However, we have not been opening up the black seats for purchase to the general public.

I would first assume the only teams that would fight us to host a game would have already hosted games.  Excluding VMI, the only teams that hosted in round 2 and are still in it are:

Pacific (attendance of 512) - Set to host in round 3
Columbia (attendance 2,019) - Set to host in round 3
Murray State (who has yet to play and may be bounced anyway)

I will be shocked if Ohio plays anywhere but the Convo at this point.  I can't make it Wednesday, but hope they win so I can be there for a semifinal over the weekend.  I think at that point we will see some good crowds and more intense play/atmosphere.

If Ohio does advance, the CIT semifinals will take place on Tuesday, April 1 with the CIT finals on Thursday, April 3. Times and sites are TBA.

FYI, we are seeing increased demand for this quarterfinals game. If you're a season ticket holder, we'd suggest calling in ASAP to reserve your seats. They may be gone after tomorrow at 2pm.

Go Bobcats!

Just a reminder about the deadline coming up today. Be sure to give us a call to reserve your season ticket location. After that time, you can still order tickets...but we can't guarantee your season ticket location.

Murray State brought in about 3200 for their game, their fans seem fairly enthusiastic, although student turnout was not good.

I would guess that if we beat VMI and Murray State beats Towson that we'll both be the host teams for the Semis which means one of us would play the winner of the Ivy League matchup and the other would play the winner of the WCC matchup. Hope we get the west coast teams, they're weaker and they'll be gassed after traveling from Portland or San Diego to the Hocking Hills.

If Towson wins I think we host them and the WCC winner flies to a more easily accessible east coast Ivy team.
