...we're going to have a wet, dirty, smelly dog sitting on our doorstep tomorrow afternoon.

Do not underestimate the ability of Brad Bates to make this a brutal transition.

Whatever is going to happen, the sooner it happens the better for a lot of reasons.  Hopefully the excellent coach that we currently have will decide to turn his back on a huge pay increase for him, and an even bigger increase for his staff to stay at Ohio.   I understand that in this situation, JC must take a look at what BC is offering to him and his family.  He owes it to his wife and to his children to look closely and make an informed decision.
If we are fortunate enough to retain him this time, a word of advice to all BobcatAttackers:   As long as we have a guy who is as talented and well respected in coaching circles as JC is, other schools will continue to "court"  him, and try to "woo" him to their program.   He did a masterful job in his first season with a very difficult group of diverse personalities.  He was even better this year with a team with much less talent and experience, and a ton of serious injuries.  Whether you agree or not, it is a fact that he very well may have done the best coaching job of anyone, two years in a row !!
If he decides to take this offer, then I wish him the best, and Ohio must move on.  It will not be a good thing for the Bobcats, but hopefully a qualified candidate will be identified and brought to Athens!

I hope that he decides to stay in Athens, but that kind of money and opportunity is going to prove very difficult to turn your back on.

Thank goodness no one's getting overly emotional about this whole thing.

Anyone ever see Monroe get the slightest bit emotional in a post?

Are you comparing OHIO to a 8088 chip?

Not sure about that, but this reminds of something I heard on the tellie the other night- the thing wrong with this world is that we have too many freaks and not enough circuses.

The difference is that I'm emotional over facts and/or things that we can control.

Anyone for another thread about our conference change?.

For instance, if I had a website for a pr/advertising business, I'd change it so it didn't have a basic flaw.
