It seemed at the end of the season that everybody fell in love with this team, this 'pack'. They fought hard and were never out of it. Now, things don't appear to be as they seem. Maybe this wasn't a close-knit group. Christian has bailed. It sounds like Jon Smith left the team because of Christian. Setty calls a change at the top a 'blessing in disguise'. Mo becomes a footnote in the minds of Bobcat fans. Owens is gone as a recruit. I'm not sure what my feelings are about the season, but they're definitely souring by the minute.

With every new tidbit of info that comes in, my assessment of JC sours more and more.  Kind of like the opinion I had of him when he was "the enemy" at Kent.  What the heck is/was going on?  Two straight years at the end of the season we hear about this kind of unrest in the locker room.  You've gotta wonder if the coach(es) is or was the problem.

It also makes me think of why Aaron Fuss was so important to this team. Could you imagine if he wasn't at Ohio last year or this year? The locker room would have totally imploded. Having a guy like that who's been there with them since the beginning is huge.

Not gonna look back or comment on last year since I don't know what was going on with that team!

I am ONLY looking forward and want a new coach named quickly.  Then I want him to sit down with players and recruits and try to salvage what is now a very bad situation.

Looks like whoever the new guy is will have about 10 spots to fill the way things are going...time to stop the bleeding!

My opinion of the team hasn't really changed.  They were inconsistent but managed to repeatedly find a way to win by digging themselves out of holes and overcoming a slew of injuries.  I'm beginning to think that it was due more to the senior leadership of Nick, Travis, Jon, TJ and Ric than the leadership of the head man.  Teams shouldn't play for family, friends, fans or coaches but for each other, and that may have been the case this past season.  Stevie and Setty will be the sparks for next year's team, and I hope Bean and Antonio come back because they really improved as the season went along.

If we are able to start with those four, stevie, bean , setty and campbell, we will be respectable.  I do, however, think at least one will be out the door.

Huh?

I thought what I thought of this year's team.  I admired it's togetherness, tenacity and achievement despite injuries and what appeared to me (at the start of the year)  to be questions about the quality of the talent.

That's worlds different about what I may now think about JC in light of events that happened after the end of the season.

Really fun and at times frustrating year (just like most college basketball seasons).  I thought JC did one of the best coaching jobs in recent Ohio memory.  Nick Kellogg stepping up will be my most lasting memory though.
