Ironically, I received an email from the Ohio Bobcat Club this morning reminding me that football season tickets and OBC membership renewals were being sent in the next week or so.  I know many of the most committed supporters of Ohio Athletics are on this site.  Do the events of this week impact donations, good or bad?  Some would argue that we are stuck being who we are and giving more doesn't matter, while others feel that giving more helps elevate the programs to a point that we are able to attract an ever-increasing level of talent with both coaches and student athletes.

I am planning to continue supporting the department and our university with a goal to keep increasing what we give.  Although it's tough to lose a coach, at least we aren't losing him to a firing for a dismal performance.  I like the overall direction of Ohio Athletics and believe in the mission.  I'm curious to hear other opinions.

It won't change my level of support. Unless Warren Buffett suddenly becomes a huge Bobcat fan, this kind of thing will always happen to us.

My recent job change may impact my giving level. These events do not.

Fair question. But in no way would this impact my level of giving.

I was going to list what DID impact my level of giving, but I am not going to do that now as it will derail an already active message board.

I have been thinking hard about upgrading the family pack to platinum seats if there are seats to be had.

This changes nothing.

Probably won't increase it but absolutely will not decrease my contribution.

I'm still firmly on the Bobcat-Bandwagon. My giving level certainly will not decrease due to these recent events.

Why would this impact one's giving, the University didn't do anything wrong here.

I hope others feel this way and see Ohio Athletics as trending upward.

It's a bit asking the choir, though.

This changes nothing for me.  I will continue to give my same amount.

I bleed green and white for life.

Unless we do something moronic in response like divest of football to boost our investment in hoops, I'm still in, full bore.

Edit: I suggest those who aren't here should, citing this as an example as to why: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pY5uIXetA1Q&utm_sourc...

Pretty well said, and basically how I feel. Gotta bump up to keep up with the Stones ;)

The only thing it might change is my overall interest level in college athletics in general. It's just getting harder and harder to like it anymore.
