Only 3 turnovers in 40 minutes. When we take care of the ball we are a pretty good basketball team. Well done.

Ben Roderick spotted in the front row.
Tommy Schmock was sitting next to him. Miles was interacting with both during a media timeout.

Wish I could be there. Such a fun weekend in Cleveland. Do they still have that big OU party at Barley House? I took my wife a few years ago and they had a 4ft tall ice luge of a Bobcat.

;
The St. Pat's in the Flats had been going on for 50 years though dropped the Flats moniker when moved up on the elevated part of town.

To answer your question, no party. Covid had started the decline in attendance and last year the Barley House was barely 1/2 filled. So the alum who had organized the 50 years of partying on the Saturday before St. Patrick's Day decided to call it a career and thus no gathering.

The Boyz seemed to like the crowd support tonight and OHIO definitely had more fans than all the teams combined except for Zips.

Game two is like the MAC Finals!

Welll, once again. It’s Akron. In the MAC tournament. Let’s keep this party going.

Hey, if Wiz can hit jump shots, let him shoot them.

Once he hits a few, that will draw the other team's post players out to guard him on the perimeter creating back door layups sans rim protection.

Unless you count goaltending like WMU thought they could get away with.

A blowout win despite a so-so shooting performance. The Bobcats got to 82 points because they had only had three turnovers compared to 18 for Western Michigan and grabbed 16 offensive rebounds. Hopefully Ohio will find its stroke tomorrow and continue with all of the other good things.

Swagger. These guys are feeling real good right now. The hustle and muscle was 5 tiers above what WMU brought. So many instances of getting to spots a lot of guys wouldn't even attempt. A lot to like...

Miles went from questionable to having a great game. I am still most confident in him shooting a spot up 3 versus anyone else. Sheldon is NOT just a 3 point shooter, the kid has an all around game including explosive speed to the rim and a great sense for the ball.

3 turnovers the entire game is insane, and I think 2 of them were to nice passes to Wiz that he just doesn't have the ability to handle and we should stop trying. Speaking of Wiz the and 1 finish and the 3 pointer can really help his psyche going into tonight. He had a lot of difficulty scoring the last few games.

Clayton attempted 7 two pointers, rebounded 11 and blocked 3. Big Man alert! Although he was only 2 for 7 on those 2 pointers, I really liked what I saw with a couple rolling off a couple real good defensive plays on him.

Hunter/Mitchell/Brown is just an elite defensive trio of guards. All 3 are so disruptive on the perimeter. Reef with SIX steals and Jaylin with 5!

Even though EJ4 still missed a couple easy short jumpers that he used to make, he looked more comfortable and like his old self.

When we went up 25 with about 7 minutes to go, I was a little surprised the starters stayed on the court. I was VERY surprised when they all came back on the court after the under 4 timeout! It is always a little amusing how coaches are irrationally terrified of the insane comeback scenarios. WMU wasn't scoring 25 points in 7 minutes.

20 wins and a 4th straight semifinal appearance, very exciting.

I feel like the favorite tonight, but Ohio is a 2.5 point underdog.

I bet it’s going to be another close exciting game vs. Akron. I think whoever wins tonight will end up winning the tournament.

This doesn’t get talked about enough.

Boals is now 4-0 in MAC quarterfinal games.
And he's 7-2 overall in MAC Tourney.
His .778 winning pct is 2nd all-time at Ohio only behind John Groce's .818 (9-2).

Two more wins this year and he ties Groce in winning pct, total wins, and championships.

osu gives Illini a game in big 10+ quarterfinal before falling 77-74.

Does that get osu into NCAA tourney? Does that get Diebler the permanent coaching job?
