I understand the concept of an upset just being understood as crazy and inconsequential. But how often do you see in the last regular season game the team with 60 to 1 odds to win the tourney beat the team with 1.6 to 1 odds to win it?

Yes. Off my Ceasars Ohio App earlier today. Some early money going on Toledo and BGSU. Current odds with the morning odds in parentheses.

Torvik has a last 10 game efficiency rating that puts us as 132, Toledo 139, Akron 168 and Western Michigan at 303. What have you done lately has got to be a better predictor of future performance...


Hoping Miles can see the court on his last go round. My gut says he will damn the torpedoes and go out fighting...

As always, I dont think anyone has heard if its serious or not and if anyone in here asks we'll have 10 people saying its a HIPPA violation and none of our business.

So hopefully it's nothing serious and we don't need him until the Championship game vs Toledo. :)

I watched the replay of Western vs Akron. Hard to believe their numbers are that bad with the talent they have. I hope Ohio really shows up ready to play Thursday night. Western will be throwing the ball in the low post to their two bigs. Gotta avoid foul trouble. I'd say a key fot us will be for our guards to really put pressure on their guards and try to deny the post entry passes. Might have to give up some dribble drives to do that. Might need some rim protection from Clayton and Hadaway quickly rotating to cover bigs.

I'd say Western will be an upper division MAC team next year.

B Artis White and JaVaughn Hannah were both among the best high school players in Michigan when they signed with WMU. Seth Hubbard had several impressive offers coming out of Georgia a couple of years ago. And of course the 7-footer off the bench, Brown, signed with UConn before transferring to Texas A&M. Probably better recruiting pedigree than OUr roster. Plus a head coach who was on Tom Izzo's staff before going to Kalamazoo.

You'd think their results would be better based on this. Maybe it will one day. Hopefully it won't be this week in Cleveland.

Yeah, not looking for an answer on Miles,just making a gut guess like Dubya... Besides, Boals is as tight lipped as they come... Wilson injury, McDay and IJ status have taught us that. Not attaching a negative or positive connotation, just sayin' how it is.

Yet again, no respect on postseason teams and honors. Tell me that Toledo and Akron should have two guys each on an All-Defensive Team? Tell me that Reef isn't an Honorable Mention guy. To have Ali Ali on First Team is also a disgrace when Jaylin has clearly shown the ability to be a First Team guy. And I am sorry, but Barbee did a great job this year, but to lose AJ Brown and lose Miles for a few games, IJ not playing--Boals deserved Coach of the Year. Hopefully OUr guys use this as motivation!

Chatman is being snubbed due to his team sucking. But the guy is fo-real.

This has always bothered me about these all-whatever teams. A mediocre player on a ranked or championship team is often rated higher than an excellent player on a lower ranked team.

Not having Clayton on the all-defensive team is the only surprise to me. I figured we didn't have the stats for much more than what we got. In some ways you are punished for having a balanced attack as we do.

Toledo having two guys on the All-Defensive team for a team:

-3rd from last in Defensive PPG...that's MACtion baby!
-dead last in Opponents FG%...that's MACtion baby!
-4th from last in Opponents 3pt FG%...that's MACtion baby!

Pssssttt...Akron and Ohio also had a better scoring margin average than they did.

Western is NOT the worst team in the MAC as they changed considerably when they got Brown halfway through the year.
They are a bad matchup for us because we have no one to guard Brown. They had 13 off reb on us so we got problems on the glass against them...

I want us to win the MAC regular season next time. Maybe end up with 30 wins like James Madison is doing.

Seriously. These last come from behind home wins, aided by loudness in the Convo, give me real optimism about what can happen. People were really excited to to go games after that Fiami win.
