Since most of our schedule carried over and we have the Nassau and Sun Belt/MAC Challenge, what’s the over/under timeline on filling the remaining 2(?) games?
OSU-Newark eagerly waiting for the call.
Let's keep those dollars in Southeastern Ohio -- Marietta and Rio Grande are the obvious choices. The SEO Challenge!

Always a fun game to play......November 1st.....hahahahahahaha. I don't believe full schedule has ever been released before September 1st in last fifteen years.

Hahah. I’d like to think with most of the heavy lifting done prior to this summer; it’ll be sooner than that. Shouldn’t be that hard to fill two spots with a combo of top 75 opponents, right?

Ha...yup...hope you are right on top 75...but I think OCF is on it. One of these games I'm afraid is going to be Ohio Dominican or Nelsonville-York JV squad.

I know you’re being humorous, but honestly I agree.

We should never again schedule a midseason game against a non-D1 opponent, but if it gets to desperation we could / should throw a bone to a regional D2-D3 team like a Marietta or a John Carroll.

Or go get blasted by Duke on the road. Any of those scenarios make more sense than playing a branch campus.

23 of 362 schools have released their non conference schedule. Toledo is the only school from the MAC to do so.

Man, I hope not. This would be a year to have a complete schedule that excludes such opponents. I guess I figured we’ve been good for 2 P5 games the past two seasons; and that’s the only thing missing from the schedule so far.

Or even a Hofstra/Drake/Furman type. We also have an even 5 home and 5 away (Nassau + Feb Sun Belt/MAC Challenge) games accounted for. Assuming we go an even 6 and 6; have to imagine at least 1 of the 2 remaining games is against a quality opponent (P5?) on the road.

Totally agree on Hofstra/Drake/Furman. Would take a game versus College of Charleston today. I'm also with MDWST. I wouldn't care one bit if we scheduled a game at Duke or Kansas...something like Kent did last year with Houston and Gonzaga. If we get blasted...who cares? If we contend and complete like Kent did in those games...then alright then. Losing two automatic games like that doesn't matter in non-con. The league is not getting an at-large anyway.

Duke and Kansas have already released their non conference schedules, but I get the idea. I'm not always for scheduling against a team with a bunch of lottery picks, but most P6 teams on the current bracketology, give them a call.

Yup...correct...I was using Kansas and Duke as examples....those kind of teams....top 10...top 15 teams.

College of Charleston would be amazing. Also agree with MDWST. Too much experience and talent on this years team (in comparison to last with all the newcomers) to waste games on UC Clermont types. Would absolutely rather swing and miss against a top 25 opponent even at the expense of a blowout.

As our current schedule stands, Youngstown and Troy appear to be the strongest known opponents so far. I really hope these last two games are of quality.

Yes, please get rid of the Division 4 team we play every year. I know Boals likes to say every year that nobody wants to play Ohio, but that can't be said this year. This program is two years removed from the NCAA Tournament and doesn't have a player that will be drafted by an NBA team after the upcoming season.

Make these last 2-3 games on the schedule count. Nobody wants to see UC-Clermont or Ohio Northern on the schedule...nobody.

Noted a few weeks back by Jeff Goodman; but, UNCG’s inclusion in Nassau officially announced.

First opponent is George Washington in the Baha Mar. They haven't released a bracket, but based on the schedule and making sure teams are as fresh as possible, I'd say we'd most likely play UIC or MTSU the second day.

Solid first matchup. Boals shared the bracket, you’re correct we play the winner of UIC/MTSU. Wonder how they came up with the pairings.

Poked around George Washington’s roster. Returns James Bishop IV; who was first team All A10 with 22ppg; have to think he’s the favorite for POY. Also returns A10 freshman of the year in Maximus Edwards (11ppg and 7rpg). The latter was originally a K-State recruit.

The rest of the roster has a ton of freshman and little PT experience but also includes an Evansville transfer who averaged 8ppg, Oklahoma transfer, and a RS Virginia Tech transfer. Solid draw overall for the first game imo. Glad we avoided Delaware again and Kansas City/UIC/Brown.

Bishop is a beast. Was 12th in the country in scoring last year. Started his career at LSU, super senior back for his COVID year.

Funny that ohiobobcats.com lists this as only our second matchup with George Washington. We played them twice, once in Preseason NIT and one in postseason NIT, in 1994-95 and Boals was on that team lol.

Speaking of SaulBall, ol' boy has gone 87–25 in four seasons with D2 Northern State.

My wife and I drove through the mountains between Central Ohio and our nation's capital during a blizzard in December of 1998 to see Ohio play at G. Washington. She was pregnant with our first child and we had a flat tire within 10 miles of our house. Still made it to the game and sat across the court from Wolf Blitzer.

Having said that, I don't believe that was a preseason NIT game. Maybe another matchup in addition to the ones mentioned?

5 times since 1994. I got this from K. Massey and I think his data only goes back to sometime in the 50s.
