Great job ...retweeted this earlier today. Not sure I would have wanted to get out in that lead pack but I am proud of his accomplishment.

I don't know personally know this guy, maybe some of you do. But this story seems to epitomize what's good about Ohio athletics. Went from a freshman walk-on to finishing 12th in the Boston Marathon.

Awesome! Goes to show what a "Walk-On" at a mid-major can do!
Craig was also the Director of Compliance at Ohio.

Went to high school with Craig, he is a dedicated and quality guy... and reps OU well. His dad Bob was a four-time basketball letterwinner for Ohio from 1975-1978 ...

One of my best friends/roommates ran Cross Country, and he was a couple years ahead of this guy (his team nickname was Squirrel). A couple years after we had graduated, we were back in town for a reunion with friends over Memorial day. As we were walking to O'Beatty's near closing time, this very skinny kid who was carrying a case of beer on his way to afterhours got very excited and started shouting "Its [my friend's name]! Its [friend's name]!" Squirrel (a.k.a. Craig Leon) then insisted that we all go with him to what was essentially the Cross Country team's Afterhours. It was an exceptionally fit and skinny bunch.

Check out the story of how Craig Leon and the other American men made sure an American runner won the Boston Marathon.
(don't know if I embedded the link right...)

That is incredible. Please watch the interviews, too. I am a marathoner myself and what these guys do is simply beyond my comprehension. It has to be one of the most under appreciated feats of human achievement that there is.
The Boston Marathon is a magical event and it is incredibly likely that this could only have happened there and on that particular day. Even more reason to believe in
Boston Strong
