I rarely participate in the "this team could beat that team " argument as I have always considered it a waste of time and quite frankly, it pisses me off a bit to hear guys that were not even born or never saw the 2 teams play talk like they actually know something. Total mental masturbation in my book...

All of a sudden I ran across a site that give you match ups and can play the game. I am not sure I am in agreement with the results I' m highly interested in the methodology of pitting say....2014 ball State vs 2001 Ohio and looking at the virtual play by play. ...and seeing how they got the result and based on what parameters.

Thought it might appeal to a few folks on this board.

Borna, you sir have won the internet for today. This is incredible.

It's saying the Sweet 16 team would beat the Georgetown beating team by 9 on a neutral court.

It's also saying the Sweet 16 team would beat the Jeremy Fears 04-05 squad by 7 on a neutral court.

Wait!  Ohio plays Ohio on a neutral court and Ohio loses?  Does Marty McFly know about this?

I don't like it- it has 2011-2012 Ohio State beating 2011-2012 Ohio (Sweet 16 Ohio) at the Convo 71-47.  Not cool!

I found it interesting that if a team before the invent of 3 point shot plays a team after the invent of the 3 point shot only the post 3 point shot team can shoot a 3. That's a huge disadvantage for the pre 3 point shot team. The 04-05 was pretty good apparently. I am disappointed the 93-94 team is not represented.

I think I may have found a weakness.  My beloved 2001 Ohio football Bobcats would have beaten the 2001 Ohio State Buckeyes 20-17 at the horseshoe.  Not saying it couldn't happen, but I'm somewhat skeptical that Knorr could have doubled his wins that year if only we had played the buckeyes.

Thanks for posting! Reminds me of being 9 years old and playing Microleague Baseball on an IBM PC...

I've been replaying the 2012 Ohio/PSU game and PSU always wins...

Just goes to show that (a) computers are only as good as the biases of their programmers and (b) computers ignore the human element (e.g., being so jacked up with emotion at the beginning of the game that the adrenalin is gone by halftime).
