Arkley mentioned the schedule at the end of his last article (LINK).  Thought I would start a thread to discuss.  Looks like we should have around 12 OOC games this year.

There a few games and factors already in place. By playing in Hawaii, Ohio will not have an exempt tournament this season which should set the total number of games at approximately 30. The MAC will have 18 conference games in 2014-15.

Home Games
Marietta (Nov 8, Exhibition)
Belmont (Last Bracket Buster return game)
St. Bonaventure (Dec 6)
UNC Wilmington (Dec 30)
Appalachian State
Acorn State
Arkansas - Pine Bluff

Road Games
Evansville
Florida Gulf Coast

Neutral Site
- Diamond Head Classic
George Washington (12/22 2:30 PM ET ESPNU)
Depaul or Colorado (12/23 2:30 or 4:30 PM ET ESPNU)
Loyola Marymount, Wichita State, Nebraska, or Hawai'i (12/25 1:30, 4, 6:30 or 8:30 PM ESPN2, U or 3)

I heard there will only be 15 home games this year. The Diamond Head classic takes the place of some of the home "tournaments" we've hosted (i.e. last year's games with Valpo, Mercer and Evansville) where the teams played round-robin.

So, by that we have 4 more home games to fill. Plus (presumably) an exhibition, unless Saul goes for 2 of the "secret scrimmages".

any word on if the Marshall series starts back up? The last matchup was in Athens, would guess if we continue we'll be in Huntington for the next one.

I really hope they get that back on the schedule, and also do it while students are on campus.  It's a really good rivalry game for the fans.

Kent just released their non-conf schedule today (from newslinks).  Any rumors out there on when we'll hear about ours?  I'd guess it's a little ways away given the coaching change.

One of the keys to us gonig forward is keeping Fuss. He is really good for the program with regard to scheduling. Particularly at finding beatable opponents like Mercer who are going to make the dance and have a chance of doing something.

So they get Saul's former team in El Paso, then his current team at least twice.

I remember vividly the last time they came to Athens.  The Marietta crowd was rowdy for...about 47 seconds.

I heard they were trying to do this. The exhibition falls on Dad's Weekend this year, so they were trying to find an opponent to generate some buzz. I'm sure the Marietta folks will come out in droves like last time.

Nothing brings in the casual fan quite like 2 SWAC home games!

Honestly, upon looking at the OOC slate, I'm good with it. The tourney in Hawaii guarantees 3 games? That's huge and if we can do some damage in that....that'll be great. Belmont is nice to have at home too.

I hope that the last game (arkley metioned home and home) is a good series. Something like UNI the last couple years.

This schedule looks so much better if you assume that we go undefeated while playing on an island.

Hopefully it's a team with a bit more pizazz, for lack of a better word...like Davidson, which with 2 players from Columbus who play significant mins would draw a nice crowd.  How about a home/home with Cleve St.?  I wouldn't mind playing a game in what has just become a very significant basketball city...

So it's our job as the hardcore fan to drag a couple casual fans along for the ride regardless of the opponent.

I ran across this today and thought it was interesting - a web site where officials from college basketball programs seek opponents for their schedule:

http://www.basketballtravelers.com/game-schedule-board/?e...

Ohio University is looking for 2 games to end our schedule. 1 H/H Series starting on the ROAD November 22. 1 H/H series starting at HOME November 19. Please email with interest. fuss@ohio.edu Division 1 opponents only please. 2014-2015, Home & Home, Last Updated: 2014-07-02

I'm surprised that's not closed to the public.  Good find.

And interesting reads too.  "WE LOSE 5 SENIORS" and "We lose 5000 points of scoring".  Lowering expectations I suppose.
