Tod Kowalczyk continues to go through assistant coaches like Spinal Tap drummers, as Anthony Stacey joined the procession out of Toledo. He's the 4th assistant to leave since the end of 13-14.

Our old friend Nick Dials is the next man up. So there's plenty there to dislike.

It is odd, isn't it. Stacey was only on the job for 5 months before quitting for "personal reasons" with no apparent job lined up. Coach K game him the "we wish him well in his future endeavors" quote as well.

Jason Kemp left after only 1 season at Toledo to rejoin the coach he had just left who is now a coach at a rival school in the same conference. Was this done our of loyalty to Phillips or done out of a dislike of Coach K, or both?

Jordan Mincy left after only 1 season at Toledo to take the same position at La Tech. Similar to Kemp this is more of a lateral move than a move up.

I can't find any record of the 4th member of the staff to leave this year.

Prior to losing these 4 coaches after the 2014 season Toledo lost 2 coaches after the 2013 season.
- Angres Thorpe left after 3 seasons at Toledo, plus 2 at Milwaukee with TK, to go to University of Missouri-Kansas City.
- Ryan Pedon also left after 3 years at Toledo to join Groce in Illinois. That's a logical jump.

It seems odd to see so many coaches leaving a growing mid major to take jobs at other mid majors but maybe that's normal, I'm not familiar enough with the industry to know but from the outside looking in it looks like something isn't quite right in Toledo.

I'm sure Kowalczyk's basketball sports info guy pulled that "future endeavors" line right out of the manual.

It's used so often, I presume that some attorneys have determined it's the safest, blandest thing to say...

Too funny! I laughed out loud when I read that "future endeavors."

Third job he has "resigned" from in a year. Medina High School, Sandusky Schools, and now BGSU.
