Now if we can just get a better intro video. I shutter at the thought of watching that 14 more times this year. And for the benefit of those who want to watch it, can we please get someone to clear the area in front of the video board of spectators.

Cheerleaders, others constantly standing in front of the scoreboards.

The new video intro is bad, real bad. No oomph. Horrible sound/audio.

Cold here in Athens. Must have been a subliminal message that I received to bored things up for the winter.

Agree with you and Al here. A major pet peeve of mine. Also same issue at Peden with time clock. Why we need hanging scoreboard in Convo and new scoreboard for Peden atop the academic center.

The audio system is bad. The music during dance team routine is almost impossible to hear. There is a line on the floor in front of the video boards that says "No Stand" in large letters. Like everything else in society, people are selfish and rude. That is the only reason they stand there. An adult should not have to tell another adult that 13,000 seats have an obstructed view because they're standing in front of the screen.

Seems like the issues with Daktronics extends to Chicago as well:

I like the new intro. The ending isn't that great. but for the most part it's good.

I'm surprised that those of you who have been fans for decades don't like the video. I could see students not liking it (they weren't around for the games featured)...but as a guy who saw all of those moments I rate it an A+. What is the beef with it? Feel like I'm missing something.

+1 Anytime I see the tip in or the final moments at Akron in 2010 I get goose bumps.

It is good, but it does very little to get people excited for player intro's. Getting the building pumped up is what pre-game music and video should be all about once it's time for player intro's, and just before tip off.

Seeing all of those great moments that I have experienced as a fan got my pulse quickened and ready to witness more great memories. It took my mind back to the feelings I had when we won the preseason NIT, when Leon tipped the ball in, when Bassett dunked, when we beat Georgetown, etc. I thought it did its job very well.

I haven't seen it yet, but I have to ask what's not to like about that? Sounds perfect to me.

I can see how such a video would resonate with alumni more so than students. A strong video would use history to help tell the story before transitioning to highlights of our current players.

For my money, it has never been any better than POD's "Boom" blaring over the Bobcat launching through MAC opponents' billboards. Update the graphics to that sucker and bring it back!

The music isn't something that will get the crowd going in terms of the pace/beat, and as other's have noted, getting the student section pumped up isn't gonna happen with video from 1993-1994. Just my opinion.

It's a great piece of video, and it stirs my memories because I was there for a lot of it.

But, gosh, our introductions are awful long and drawn out and by the time they're over I don't want to stand up for defense.

Pete--If you're not going to play defense, then don't suit up.
