If Ball State can be competitive at Utah, that's a great sign. That fanbase needs something to rally around.

SDSU at Buffalo should be interesting. The Jackrabbits tend to be solid and I'm still not sold on Hurley.

Point spread is 26.5 in the Ball State game so keeping it within 10 would be a good sign. I agree about their fanbase. They have been the most snake-bit program in the MAC for years. They and Toledo are the two MAC schools that could challenge us in attendance if they could string together some successful seasons.

The Jackrabbits lost as much as Buffalo so hard to tell how that one is going to go.

So...EMU draws 500 for this opening game. Over or Under?

There are eight other home games in the MAC this weekend besides OUr's. Will 12k or more show up for all eight combined? Will Ohio outdraw all eight other MAC games?

It really would be great for the MAC if Ball State would return to a competitive, relevant level.

Watched a bit of the Buffalo game and I have to figure they are going to get zoned to death. Their offense looked like a younger age AAU team. Pass, pass, pass...drive into traffic and miss a contested layup. South Dakota State should have won the game but abysmal FT shooting lost it for them. I always root for MAC teams this time of year and I started the game rooting for Buffalo but after a couple of shots of Bobby Hurley with that whiney look on his face I found myself pulling for the Jackrabbits.

Zavier Turner manages 14 points, 0 assists and 5 turnovers for Ball State but they can't quite beat Utah, falling 90-72.

Hustle Belt's 11th best player in the MAC, everyone!

OUvan, I watched some of that game and now believe UB can be a Mac contender IF their guards come to realize that when they drive the lane they can trust their teammates and they are allowed to give the ball up to one of them.

MAC went 3-1 today with Buffalo getting blown out by Kentucky after leading at the half. Wigginton our former signing had 15 pts off the bench.

Solid weekend for the MAC. Won the games we should have.

Not a MAC game, but 1st Round Diamond Head Classic opponent GW dropped the hammer on Rutgers.

The MAC went 11-2 this weekend with competitive losses to #1 Kentucky and #25 Utah, that's about as good as one could hope for to start the season.

In less encouraging news Ohio's OOC opponents went 5-6.

I watched a bit of that too. Left me wondering if Yuta Watanabe of GW and Mo ever crossed paths in high school.
