Interested in what happened from those that were there.

Me? I was here in Columbus watching You Tube clips with non-sports wife (who coincidently just bought Browns-Colts tix on Stub Hub for her parents for X-Mas).

Convo had line all the way round the place w/students in for the free food.

Pretty good turnout - lower bowl filled, some spill over above.

When they went to get it started and "lights out in the Convo" - 10 minutes of someone not figuring out how to get that to work - lights out, then on, then off, then on, after a while of that Ozone "You, you, you, you suck" chant (hilarious).

Saul came out on the motorcycle with Rufus. Players/coaches both mens and womens teams introduced.

3 ball contest. Bean, Kaminski, Stevie. Ozone wanted Setty - "just shoot one". They tossed him a ball and he hit from about 45 feet!

30 seconds to hit as many 3's as can. Bean looked good - hit 10. Kaminski hit 12 - dude is a shooter - perfect mechanics, consistent mechanics, no one in the MAC will be able to shut him down. During the "scrimmage" (trash time fun) - he hit from deep multiple times w/players in his face. Stevie hit 8. Might not miss Nick as 3 ball threat as much as anyone fears.

"Scrimmage" was all trash time fun - dunks, ally-oops, etc. 40 ft 3 ball air balls ("Campbell from somewhere in the vicinity of Guam).....

Slam dunk contest. Mompremier looks so more athletic this year - showed his hops and athleticism at the rim - hammered it down multiple times - serious attitude look about him - could get more time than we expect. R Taylor and Laster are VERY athletic.

Ndour Is The Show. Players had 30 seconds to get in as many dunks as they could. 1st round - can't remember the player, but a shorter player, Mo had him stand to side of the basket - running jump over the player tomahawk - WOW from crowd, sat down after one dunk. 2nd round - TWO players in front of the basket - first one taller at least 6'5 - running tomahawk over Both of them - WOW, WOW, sat down. No contest. great ending to the event.

Lotta Fun. CAN'T WAIT for the REAL THING.

Great day-- Saul rode in the Convo with Rufus on a Harley--

Hope he finishes the season riding on the shoulders of the players with a net in his hand

It was a cool night. Awesome turnout. I'm sure next year the kinks will be worked out. The lights not turning off sucked the energy out of the place. Also, I'd recommend louder music that gets the crowd more pumped up during introductions. Overall, good night. Coach Saul is the man. TONS of energy and the player seem to love him. Could NEVER imagine Christian out there doing what Saul did last night. Welcome to Athens, Coach! We are very excited to have you!

Would have liked to have seen more enthusiasm from the women's team. They were introduced individually and each WALKED the length of the court. They participated in the 3-pt contest, but sat quietly in their seats the remainder of the event. Hope that is not a foreshadowing of their season!

Maybe a weeknight was done intentionally, but I sure would enjoy it if this were on a Saturday at some point, making it much more feasible for us out of towners to make the trip. It sounds like it was a good time, and I miss the days when "Midnight Madness" was very common across campuses.

I'm lookin' forward to the formal introduction to SaulBall in a couple days!

The only thing that would have made this better is if he dunked over someone dressed in Miami clothes.

'He jumped over a human being and you only gave him a nine?' Saul is hilarious.

Don't misunderestimate the 3ball shooting from such as Kellogg and Wilkins that must be replaced. Games are more difficult than non-game situations.

I'm not one (getoffmylawn) for big sound/lighting theatrics. That totally killed the Cavs home opener intros--which had way more than enough human raw emotion in the building and in no way needed any electronic help.

Agree on both points.

Also, I'll add that I would really rather hear the 110 play during TOs than have that canned muzak. Please, can the canned stuff!

It was good except for the "lights" debacle. How are you not able to turn off the lights???!!

Attendance was remarkable.

110 had to get ready for football the night of Bobcat Madness. Logistically, probably couldn't work it out to be at both.
