Miami playing as ugly as those yellow uniforms.
But you said ours are the worst in the league.
We have the worst uniforms, but this dusty yellow is pretty gross.

If they were white they would be CRISP. Back in the Luckett era they had a cursive Ohio in white that was nice.
I like our away uniforms, but I'm not a fan of our home unis.

But Miami's uniforms are next level awful.
Our 2000's wanna be Miami Hurricane football jerseys are atrocious. I can't believe the shorts were ever approved. That giant white stripe at the bottom? Oooof.

Now that we're up 22 (assuming we hang on)

If BG wins we get WMU in Cleveland.
If Ball St wins it depends on Kent/Toledo whether we get WMU or BG.
I thought both teams were locked in? Miami has the tie over BG.
No.

If BG wins they're 10-8 and get #5 seed. Miami and WMU tie at 9-9 and WMU wins the tie-breaker so WMU would be #6 and Miami #7.

If Kent wins and there's a 3-way tie at 9-9 between Miami/WMU/Kent then WMU gets #6, Kent #7 and Miami #8 (WMU 2-1 vs Kent/Miami, Kent 1-1 vs Miami/WMU, Miami 1-2 vs Kent/WMU).

What a second half. Just an absolutely massive butt kicking.

That's the type of comeback from adversity you want heading into Cleveland.

Rest up and all that matters now is Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.

OK, shabamon, we need a rating on that put-back slam by AJ. At least a 3, maybe a 4, no? EJ was ready to grab that rebound below the rim before AJ went up a little bit higher.
That's a 3. Athletic, clean, in the middle of a momentum swing. But it won't sniff Sportscenter.

My guess judging by tonight, Boals will continue to start Elmore. But I would go with Sheldon. Regardless, this is a gut punch nobody needed. Devastating really.

Never a question of effort this evening. Miami simply came out with high defensive energy, which was to be expected after what Toledo gave them earlier in the week. There was just simply a lid. How many layups just rolled barely off in the first ten minutes of the game?

You have to not allow that to carry over to the other end of the floor, which we accomplished. Our defensive communication and chemistry is really understated. Our help/switch/recover fundamentals are very much locked in.

One thing we've done well in two games vs Miami is stay glued to Darweshi Hunter. Just about everything he threw up was well-contested.

Hadaway is awesome. I was worried about those bricks to start the game but in postgame he said he was told to keep shooting. Boals went nuts in a good way after one of his bangs early in the second half.

Good contributions from the bench. Sheldon is so crafty on both ends of the floor. Cornish is good for a few great offensive plays a game. Wiz did just what was needed from him, no more or less. Bridge the gap, no turnovers, no rock hands. He has a tendency I notice to retaliate when someone starts to show him some physicality. Potter lowered an elbow into his chest early in the game and Gabe responded with an extended forearm into his hip. Another habit he needs to break.

Kotecki might already be the biggest heel in the MAC. He already had notoriety from our first game. His foul on Shareef was extra and I think he had words for Boals too. 0 point bum.

I don't know if I like Miami's two freshman guards, but Potter and Elmer could be some real dudes in time.

Had pregame dinner at Gaslight Brewhouse a few blocks uptown. That will probably be my go-to spot in Oxford if I bring the kids. The food was outstanding. But I didn't see that they actually brew their own stuff, so I don't get the name. Gotta put more than just olives in the bloody Mary.

Dunk stats:
Clayton transition putback, Hunter fast break, Hadaway halfcourt alley. Miami none.

He's always Mr. Nice Guy in front of the camera but I bet he peeled the paint in the locker room. How many of his guys go to the portal? If they take a 3rd straight @55 beating in Cleve....

Neither Brown (AJ or Miles) played last night, Hunter didn't have his best game on offense, James still limited by something but he's playing less timid... I'm starting to think next season might end up pretty good depending of who else we bring in. And people are starting to really get back into it at the Convo which creates a legit homecourt advantage.

In Dec/Jan, I’d agree. However, this team is playing with a little bit of an it factor over the last 11 conference games. Finding ways to grind out wins; some in which our best players weren’t playing their best. Let’s call it resilience. I say that having been incredibly nitpicky at times this season with how we’ve played.

Miles is a huge blow (if in fact he’s out) on top of AJB and EJ4 still not the same. It just means more minutes for guys we want on the court when it matters most. As long as we don’t get gassed, I still think we have as good of a shot as anyone.

This all being said, I do hope we find out what happened to Miles. I mean, he just played on Tuesday. Is this the same hand/wrist as before?

No excuse for some of the early losses but the APSU game won't look as bad if they win tomorrow and get the auto-bid to the big dance. It's a road game with everything on the line. A one game season. I might have to watch this.

The 2024 ASUN Championship concludes on Sunday at 2 PM ET inside the Edmunds Center. The title contest between #2 Stetson and #4 Austin Peay can be viewed live on ESPN2.

It's a dilemma. Seeing Miami field an extremely Miami-ass looking assortment of not-Miami-quality players is a bit of a joy. But a good Miami was the standard for a really long time, is good for the rivalry, and good for the conference.

It's not harsh to suggest that implosion last night was an embarrassment on Charlie Coles night.

A bunch of their guys went portaling last year too.

He's exactly what that program needs. He knows what's needed to go deep into March. Totally different attitude over what they had the last decade following Coles.

After the 27-14 start, we went 56-24 butt whooping before junk time at the end. I don't know what the money line was for Ohio when we were down 13, but I would've mortgaged my house on it. It was a frustrating first 15 minutes but it was clear to me that it was just a matter of time. That team can't beat us over 40 minutes...I am disappointed we don't get them again.

Jaylin's shot still missing in action. Hopeful it shows up in Cleveland, but regardless he is doing a good job running the offense. At this point, I am not sure there is a pair of forwards in the conference I take over CLayton & Hadaway. Hadaway took 8 three pointers because they were there for the taking...it was crazy how much they left him open. He had a few decent looks that he passed up and mostly only hoisted when the look was good. I love that mentality.

Reef is still a little turnover prone with some of the passes he makes, but he is scoring great right now. On the other end of the spectrum, I would love to see a stat of shots blocked on offense because I think EJ may be at the top. He just gets eaten alive in the paint.

Sheldon had 5 steals in limited action, and his ball handling in traffic continues to impress me. He makes the prospect of Miles missing time more bearable to consider. But hopefully Miles is good to go...I thought his shot was really coming around at the right time and we know the value he provides defensively.

We have as much of a chance as anyone. That said I don't love getting WMU round 1. They beat us early and have been playing fairly well of late.

They started the game with Mirambeaux on Hadaway, and played a lot of the game with that matchup. If Mirambeuax comes out on Hadaway to take away the 3, then Hadaway blows past him (which he did do a couple times). Not sure what Steele was thinking with that matchup, but I'm sure Hadaway loved it.

I always liked AP as a sleeper for the ASUN based on the roster overhaul. Corey Gipson is about to have that program rocking year in and year out. He’s been in two different conference finals back-to-back years. AP alum, but def a legit young coach on the rise.

I don't consider it a bad loss, but it was a game we should have won. Agree it will be much better if it pulls out the win tomorrow. Makes for a solid return home game next year nonetheless.
