I got so into the groove of ESPN+ that I just avoided my phone and did family stuff intending to watch around 9:30 on demand reply as I often do for roadies. Was devastated when I realized it was on CBS Sports and I did not set it to record. So did not get to see this one.
Just to piss Billy off, I will complain that Clayton only shot 2 pointers to his 13 3 point attempts...but boy was he hitting them last night. We thought Jaylin's shot was figured out but it has went a little cold again. In my mind his shooting will be a huge part to how far we go in Cleveland. Also I will begrudgingly acknowledge Hadaway is 3 for his last 4 from 3, but think that's a product of being more selective.
Also appears we were crushed on rebounding but made up for it in shooting and turnovers.
When we sat at 1-3 who had us ending up 12-5 going into the final game? We have as good of a chance as anyone. I would expect us to be favored against Akron at this point and maybe 2-3 point underdogs with Toledo.
Ha -- I'll still +1 the two 2PA's for Clayton. I just think he could be elite with a more balanced approach but he was on last night from 3.
It's been a pretty remarkable turnaround, especially with AJB going down and EJ4 still not looking like himself. We're winning all different ways.
If Jaylin finds the stroke he had against Akron and Reef/Clayton continue theirs, this is a dangerous team in Cleveland. After some rough patches, can't help but feel good about this team heading into the final week of MAC play.
