Has to be. He's a shell of himself. No burst or lift on his shot. Looks like he's playing through it and 60% at best.

With how bad Gabe played, all that matters is he outscored Sam in less minutes of play.

Cats win 10 of 13 and the negativity here is amazing.

Yes, size and intimidation can play into why some of the MAC officials are quick with the trigger. Look at what Groce got away with Tuesday night. If Boals makes it out to the paint, they’d whack his so fast! And that is not something that’s just made up, that’s actually been expressed, and definitely lacks professionalism from those who have stated it.

You gotta think that if Hadaway or Clayton pick up 2 fouls in the first half, Boals risks picking up the 3rd instead of inserting Wiz. Its almost non-negotiable.

I said way back on Hadaway's recruiting thread that he could turn into something special, his high school tape was very impressive. His career got off to a bumpy start but I can see him on the 1st or 2nd team all-MAC next year. Potentially average a double double.

Loved everything about this gritty win. Flexed to 6pm on a Friday, Senior Night, Sam Towns back in town, Ozone going nuts, technicals getting dished out, honestly this game was a thing of beauty.

First off....props to Casper71 for rolling down 32 and back. From 98' - 2020' I did it many times from Cinci. It is a stretch made for a self-driving car :)

What a season so far. Some of the early season games were not very encouraging and look where the team is now. Impressive.

The game was 5-5 with around 12 minutes to go in the 1st half! Townes is a clown and made the game about him. The only problem is...he sucks and couldn't back it up.

Wiz. I guess as I get closer to Old Goat age, it is tougher for me to pile on a young man. I'll leave it there. In Boals I trust but man stop with the TF's.

BG with 21 turnovers and I feel like we had a lot to do with that number. Don't know how many were converted on the other end but it had to be a good number. Hill held in check with 12 points BTW.

When I see Sheldon, Cornish and EJ4 account for 2 points, it doesn't seem possible. Pretty sure that will improve (or I hope anyway).

Really interesting times with the impact of the portal and NIL. Somehow we are right there and I feel like we could win the tournament. Why not? Guard play seems to trump anything else down the stretch and we have that box checked. Miles with crazy clutch buckets when we desperately needed a score down the stretch. Damn good.

That is it for my random thoughts. Go Hurons!

It's maddening. I'm sorry, but Boals has to limit his minutes in Cleveland. If Hadaway or Clayton get two first half fouls, you just have to risk it. It's damn March.
Agree 100%. He is COMPLETELY lost on the defensive end. Watch him away from the ball. It is maddening. He shouldn't see another minute of action foul trouble be damned. He is a total liability when he's on the

All this criticism and bashing of Wiznitzer overlooks one thing. He’s never going to be a skill player but he has been a contributor. He has blocked shots and scored points and in my opinion has improved. And a lot of credit should go to the coaching staff. When it became obvious that there was no help coming from the portal, they were able to get the team to work with him and not around him. What this team has accomplished this year is nothing short of a miracle and extraordinary team buy-in is the reason. Wiznitzer has been accepted by his teammates as part of that team.

No doubt on that. Surely he longs for Athens as he stares out his window in BG and can see all the way to Ft Wayne.

Wait were you dressed in the OU suit? 100% agree on Towns being obnoxious throughout the night. We were heckling him all night in the O-Zone and he clearly detested the "Sammy" chants

It also overlooks several of the less-than-wise fouls that Clayton committed to put Wiz in a tough spot for all those extra minutes.

I really don't know how Boals can deal with it for another year. It's the most difficult thing I've had to watch as an Ohio fan for quite some time. We will him on to just do the basics and it's a struggle to just do that. Two full seasons is a large enough sample size to realize we have to find better.

If that is the worse thing you've had to watch as a Bobcat fan, you have definitely become the poster child for privilege. The fact you put your anguish on the performance of a back-up post player, while also spending every day obssessing about a person who is no longer with the team.

I thought he had started to look better out there this season, then came the BG game and he looked like he didn't belong on the floor at all. To me, it might have been his worst game in Athens. Multiple illegal screens, inability to catch passes, another turnover when he slipped and fell, etc... He was open several times, and teammates made the right basketball play trying to get him the ball, but those two bricks Gabe has for hands aren't good for catching basketballs.

Bingo. I haven't looked at his +/- from the game, but it seemed like every time he was on the floor BG would make a little run to close the gap again. He was worse than atrocious Friday. Would have been better off just going with 5 guards & making BG's big's chase us around the perimeter.

I just did a quick calc based on the play by play and came up with Clayton a +24 and Wiz a -17. That is startling. In each of the 5 runs Wiz had in the game the score diff went the wrong direction. It was truly horrific.

And Ruck....we are the bad guys for backing up The Whiz analysis with real numbers. You hope Boals and Co. curtail his minutes in March. If we are going to lose in March, you go down with your best guys on the court in Cleveland. Can't be sitting Clayton and Hadaway for extended minutes next week. If Hadaway or Clayton get in foul trouble, just go smaller with Elmore or Sheldon or Cornish. We have a better shot at surviving a 2-3 minute stretch with these guys on the court and The Whiz on the bench.

I can't comprehend people saying The Whiz has improved from last season to this season. An improvement would be able to 1.) catch the ball and 2.) set a legal screen. He's unable to do either one.

I think Wiz has had a few games when he has been a small plus to the team. Rebounds, points, turnovers, and 10-15 minutes. The BG game was definitely a F minus. It was hard to watch. I asked myself several times if we wouldn’t be better with Cornish or even Nicol. In my view, we have a good shot at winning the MAC with C minus or D+ games from Wiz. Maybe his 12th best game of the season times 3. Something like 10+ minutes with 3 rebounds, 2 points, a blocked shot, a couple fouls, and 1 turnover. Gaudy huh. The blueprint is out there and foul trouble to Clayton is our Achilles Heal. I don’t think we can make 3 days without 30 minutes and close to neutral performance from Wiz. For the life of me, I can not figure out how he can not catch a bounce pass or muscle a shot in from 2 feet away. I would have the Jugs machine throwing him 100 bounce passes and 100 lobs and shoot every single day. The same mistakes over and over is maddening.

No way he should see the floor in Cleveland foul trouble be damned. Play 5 guards if necessary.
