Did not anticipate that. Making it more difficult for out-of-town ticket holders to attend - an afterthought for those making these decisions.

An afterthought? I disagree. Those making the decision didn't think about it for one second.

Saturday games are very limited to begin with then this happens.

I know the ticket office couldn't care less but this is why I stopped buying season tickets.

Especially when you count all the folks at happy hour in bars where the game is on the TV above the bar.

Yes they will all tell the bartenders to put the TV on Bowling Green at Ohio.

Really haven't seen many people at our games this season. Only one well attended game.

What about the other saturday games the last few years? It has been very weak. I like saturday games but this one would not have been like the last one.

That's because we only have one Sibs Weekend a year.

Therein lies the answer to OUr attendance problems. Four or 5 sibs weekends every winter coinciding with Saturday home basketball games.

And Dads weekend when we play someone other than Otterbein or Marietta.

It's almost like the key to attendance is figuring out a way to tap into our vast enrollment and alumni base across the state. Moms/Dads/Sibs/ *insert reason for family or alumni to be engaged or in town* plus put it on a weekend when people can travel.

Hate when they do this. I’m sure the money math works out, but it sucks for the city of Athens. Had tentative plans to visit with friends that Saturday but that’s probably out the window now.

I rolled the dice and won!

Could only attend one remaining away game and was undecided either Tuesday night vs Akron or the
Saturday BGSU game. Last week, bought the Tuesday night tickets and now lucky I don't have to worry about three others trying to rearrange their schedules to join me for the 3.5 hour trip.

Now I can get my Lenten Fish at the bar that Friday and watch some Cats on the tube...

We often see that's it's about the money but I find it hard to believe that as a member of the MAC we get any extra money because we're chosen to be the moved game. The MAC most likely has a contract with whomever for X number of games with the Friday night movement option and the league teams share equally in the overall contract. I would be shocked that we get one extra dime for having our game moved.

It's the only reason why the number I buy is about to be reduced to two. There's very little incentive to keep them when this BS happens all the time. It's impossible to make plans for a conference game anymore.

Just for once, I'd enjoy it if someone within the walls of The Convo or the MAC offices acted like they gave a damn. My interest in MAC basketball is at a personal all-time low, and it's because of Mickey mouse crap like this.

At least in the Horizon League, they know they're playing on Friday night from the start. Same for the MAAC, and Ivy League, and B1G. If I'm wrong about this, correct me, but I think I'm correct. And it's garbage.

The problem is, in the age of streaming, "National TV on CBS Sports Network" is actually a step down from just being on ESPN+. Whenever I state this to the football mb, I'm crucified. They still think it's 2011 and every house has and WANTS cable and satellite. :)

Every year when the ticket office calls to sell me season tickets I tell them this is the reason I won't buy them. I know they're just doing their job and don't make these decisions but it's clear that no one in the AD department cares.

When I make that call next year, this is going to be why. It's impossible to get anyone to go with me from Columbus when you plan for Saturday, and 12-15 days beforehand, the dopes at the TV networks change the day of the game. Yes, it's been happening for years, but it doesn't make it right.

Exactly. At least on a TV, steaming is watching TV. Does anyone actually think "I'm watching a streaming channel vs a cable or antennae channel?" Nope, I'm just watching TV. Time to drop the "national TV" charade.

Never said better. How many people under 40 have EVER used cable or satellite?
