I think we should consider moving the band or do something to change the atmosphere. It really feels like something about the convos/ozones atmosphere has changed over the past 5 years. The only changes that have been made is the black seats and the band moving. I get why the black seats are there the band not so much. It has become very hard to find seats in the Ozone and I feel like the average college student is no longer attracted to standing in it where 5 years ago that used to not be the case. Every time I bring friends to the ozone for the first time they love it and want to come back. The problem is there is no space and most average college student won't want to leave as early as you need to get a seat. Move the band and this problem is solved.

The other issue is who wants to sit behind the band? I don't want a fricking tuba blocking my view.

Yeah I tried that ....had to move. Even though it just blocked the corner of the court it was distracting.

Speaking of a tuba, did you know that Yuba played the rumba on a tuba down in Cuba? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Thfg7F7ZyIo

And where exactly do you move the band? There isn't sufficient room behind the basket at the closed in and putting them at the other end makes timeouts hard to hear for the home team.

Too bad there is not room at the end by the visitors bench. Love to see visiting coaches try to talk over the band. THAT"S Homecourt advantage.

Agreed big time Borna. There is enough room for the volleyball band but that's a small group compared to what the 110 brings. I personally like the band where it is and I think of them as part of the ozone not separate from it. Many of their members seem fully engaged in the game.

For the women's game, which are very entertaining, the band IS the Ozone!

I'd argue that the band are among the most enthusiastic Ozone members at any game. They're in the right spot.

You mean like exactly where they used to be?

I agree with those who want to move the band. Is there no way to switch the home team to the other side? I loved the atmosphere when the band was behind the basket and the students had the entire side!

Not with the current and recently redone locker room set up.

I have to agree that we may have the BIGGEST crowds but they are also, for the most part, the LAMEST fans around. Other than the Ozone, at times, i see very few rabbid/loud fans at our football or basketball games.

On a more serious note, can't we just lower the Convo roof to make the place smaller?

Must be a few on here who either:

1. Have never been in the Convo for a basketball game - or
2. Have dyslexia

Based on comments about where the band could, should, used to be............

I commented but I can surely say.....I have a few games in the convo under my belt and unlike most have been in a variety of sections and seats.....during the course of almost every game.
