Pro's:
*Liked the new look of the Rohr Room
*Liked the new murals in place of the faded individual pictures in the entry
*Liked the new banners from the rafters as compared to nothing or the flags
*Liked the new pre-game video with clips of great Ohio hoops moments

Con's:
I rarely eat at the concessions, but came hungry today. Not sure how long ago they switched, but I went hoping for the personal sized Donato's Pizza. Instead they had a $5.00 peice of Domino's Pizza. I passed.

Not Sure:
New parking arrangement.

Agree with all the Pro comments

My Con's

Painted bathrooms nice but...dryers, broken stall doors, etc.

Not Sure:

I agree with the undecided on the parking arrangement. If there are enough Purple Parking Passes then I guess it makes sense but if not then seems like some wasted parking spaces...not a terrible inconvenience and the idea makes sense so keeping it as a not sure. (that is until we have to park farther away and wear our coats in since the coat check is gone in the Rohr Room:) )

My first year in the Rohr Room - this "closet" (without a place to hang your coat) of a room is an improvement?

I like that the video has some history to it - would be nice if you could actually hear anything when it's playing, and the production is pretty low quality. No Oomph, Impact. I have seen it twice now and both times I am standing there waiting for the embarrassment to end....Nothing like what he have had for years.

Are there any new offerings at the concessions, or is pizza still the most "premium" item we offer?

I did not see the words improvement...I saw "like the new look"...

The Rohr Room is what it is and it has its perks (small though they may be). I donate to Bobcat Club because I want to and I get a little bit of something for the level at which I donate. In my opinion I get something for free for the donation I give. If I were giving to get something in return the Rohr Room would not have been where I would have set my sights. It is a nice problem to have when something is no longer big enough to handle the participants. The Rohr Room has that problem and that is a good thing for the Bobcat Club, IMHO.

I would like a coat check area myself but until the Convo gets so crowded that I can't take my coat with me I will survive. When that occurs the Rohr Room will not be nearly big enough for what it is now either and my donation capabilities will no longer give me access to the new and improved hospitality suites.

My favorite videos were with bobcats- one on the College Green and then the Convo if I'm correct, and one busting through the Miami banner. Dynamic and exciting.

I don't get it. In another thread you asked to be "sold" on the Rohr Room, and everyone who responded described it accurately and cautioned you about viewing it as a big deal or significant perk, yet you keep complaining about it as though you were fooled into increasing your donation.

That previous thread was before any of us saw the "new" Rohr Room. There is a coat hanging area for about 30 coats as opposed to the coat check area where the pop corn, pop and water are now. As little beer and "wine" (Ravens Glenn) that is being served, all the food and beverage could be served out of one area as opposed to two.

The video board is so small, low quality and awkwardly placed that I feel almmost uncomfortable when they play an intro video on it. It's like a party of 100 people all trying to watch a 27" box TV. The production they played pre-intro seemed pretty nice, I think...but you almost can't take anything seriously coming from those video boards.

I think it's to the point with the video board that it's almost better to not use it for actual video, and instead use it to show player stats. Of course the location of the video boards is going to be a big complaint for most everyone until they get moved to higher, more visible locations.

I'm in agreement regarding the use of the pre-game video/audio. I liked the prior years intro music much, much more. And this stuff, while interesting and historical, doesn't create excitement to get people amped up.

My feeling: Play something like this just before the lights go out. Then, come up with some music like in years past that gets the crowd going.

I've said for years that a legitimate video board is a huge, huge need for this program. The Convo is still a very nice place to see a game -- I love the old girl -- but we need a big-screen TV. Preferably we'd buy a used hanging scoreboard from some big-time school that just upgraded. Stats, video and all, right up high.

And I maintain that upgrading from those embarrassingly small corner TVs will make a big difference to recruits, too. If I was 17 and came for a game, I'd be stifling a laugh when I saw those TVs.

EDIT: Schaus told me at the Bobcat Caravan event in Cincy that it'd cost about a million dollars for a nice hanging scoreboard with a big TV. See this thread for more: http://www.bobcatattack.com/messageboard/topic.asp?ForumP...

That's not chump change, but it's not out of reach for OU considering what we just managed to produce in the way of a football fieldhouse.

I think there's probably a lot higher priorities than getting a new video board. It's a "nice to have" but not a necessity. They've generally focused more on projects that benefit recruiting (fieldhouse, locker rooms, etc) than fan-related amenities. And I think that's a good thing.

whats the problem with the boards. What happened to the OSP and police that used to stand down in the end and tell people to get the heck out of the no stand area?

When did we suddenly get so many folks that they can't find a seat and move the heck out of the way?

From my experience, it has usually been cheerleaders standing in front of scoreboards.

Yes

What other sports arena/facility anywhere is this even a possibility?

Basketball arenas need to start using more projection and fewer boards. Seems like a large investment in technology that will be antiquated rather quickly. Holograms and projections are where it's heading, I'd guess.
