Besides the "It's always been this way" response, why do all of the Saturday tip times have to be 2pm? I have a semi-strong opinion that it would be great to have a 4pm or even 6pm tip on occasion on a Saturday night?

Edit: To add to this, remember when there used to be a men's/women's basketball double header on a few Saturday's during the year? Is there a reason those seem to have disappeared?

There are actually some doubleheaders in the MAC this year, but none at Ohio. Our games at Miami on 2/14 are a doubleheader.

Don't know how many people in the athletic department want to officially make the women an opening act, but there's no denying it would get more eyes on the women's team.

Agreed. I'd certainly consider game day where the ladies tipped at say 1-1:30, and the men tipped 30-40 mins after that ended.

Not conference games, but there is a double header this Saturday in the Convo.

That's not the same type of doubleheader that we had before where the women't game ended and the men played 30 minutes later. This has a 90 minute window and few folks will do that.

More alarming to me than anything related to the times is that we are on TV so little this year. I thought the new ESPN deal was supposed to throw us a bone on occasion?

Not a single home game televised, even on "internet" TV.

I would take that over arguing about "this is my ticket" vs "I been here first" and having the person purposely spill an entire coke in the area of my feet when the usher politely asked him to move.

I did like the double headers vs Kent and one or 2 others I was able to attend. got to see the athletes on the court and meet their parents.

Just hated the mess that was left by loud and rude fans... probably just isolated cases that left a long effect on me.

So why not just sell one ticket for BOTH games, and do it say twice or three times a season? I bet you'd get more locals coming out for the ladies in the long run.

With a six year old and traveling on St Rte 13, I like the 2pm tips. Lets us get there, have lunch, shop a little, see a game and get home before it gets too dark. Especially in the winter when the roads can get bad, that drive in the dark is not fun.

And most weekends, I'm fine with the 2pm times, or even a noon time. But a couple times a year, I still think having a 4pm, or even a 7pm Saturday tip time would be nice. Especially when we're talking about games against the better teams on our schedule. I know they did this for Belmont, but why not a conference opponent?

ESPN has an option to pick up some games later in the season. Still, it is troublesome that there are so few planned games on the network. It seemed like there were more guaranteed TV games in the day when the MAC was working with FSN and STO.
