From a few minutes ago:

Jason Arkley @JasonAmessenger
Taylor has contracted mononucleosis, HC Saul Phillips said today. Will be sidelined for a bit, may still go Hawaii trip

As someone who had mono as a freshman at OHIO, I highly doubt he plays in Hawaii or until the last non-conference game.

Seems like getting mono freshman year is a thing.

Mono can really vary in severity. Being a well-conditioned athlete helps, though. Roger Federer was still able to play world-class tennis while suffering it. Not sure that's germane, but I'll take the opportunity to talk about him.

as someone who had mono as a junior- 2 weeks of toughing it out, lots of fluids, Bob's your uncle, and back at it good as new.

fingers crossed.

Hopefully he is back for Hawaii. Sometimes mono lingers for quite some time. Being in good shape can't hurt.

I would say he will not play in Hawaii. The question is does he still make the trip or miss out on a trip to Hawaii.

Missing the trip would be easier knowing the Paradise Jam is on the schedule next year.

Forget the few weeks, Saul said Ryan Taylor should be able to play in some capacity already against Evansville.

He didn't look too awful on the bench today. But, damn, we missed him; which is an amazing thing to say about a true freshman in game 6 of the season.

And as I commented to RJM today, good thing we were all so concerned for Chander Thomas' eligibility.

Ryan is a good one, and at some point soon, I hope he see's the starter's role at the two instead of one of our two seniors.

Thomas is a question I asked about again yesterday in post game discussion. It's really strange to me he's not played since being considered eligible, but I don't know the in's and out's of his situation.

He actually calls out Ton for letting the cat out of bag, and says Ryan has likely been playing with Mono. By the time they picked up on the symptoms, he was on the downhill side.
