I attended last nights Toledo-Duke game and for the record, Toledo is very good! They primarily used 7 players but they have a lot of talent in those players. It could be a long night against them based on what I have seen of our own team this year.

Coach K gave Juice Brown high praise, saying he could play in the ACC. Based on what I've seen, they should continue to be the run away favorite at this point in the MAC.

For the record, the Duke Coach K said that, correct?

That's not a bad box score for a MAC team going up against #2 and the likely #1 overall draft pick. Toledo forced a decent number of turnovers (13), shot 49%, only 15 of their 61 FGA were three pointers, didn't get killed on the glass.

The one thing that will help us is that they still aren't a very good defensive team. They may outscore us but good defensive teams have really given us fits.

Quinn Cook scored 20 points for Duke, but Krzyzewski complimented the other point guard.

“He’s good,” Krzyzewski said of Brown. “He could play in our league, big time.”

Not sure about run away favorite... I'd argue Buffalo (losses to Kentucky, Wisconsin and St. Bonaventure) has looked better than UT (losses to Duke, VCU, Oregon, Oakland and Detroit) so far.

I wouldn't sleep on Western, Eastern, BG or Akron either. I don't see any team as the prohibitive favorite at this point.

Buffalo, Akron, Western I'd agree with. Maybe even Central or EMU. Central has Fowler, who is a fine PG, and EMU's 2-3 is very tough if they can score a little more. BG, while clearly improved, I'm not sold on yet. Still, Toledo has the MAC's best PG, at what is typically the most important position in the league.

I thought Toledo looked really good. Till the phantom charge call and a couple of other typically Dookie home advantage calls came to be it was a one possession game.

I don't see our guards matching up defensively and then getting blown by or fouls from reaching or not moving their feet. THe bigs are gonna have to be really on the ball or Spoon will eat them alive. Coach has really put a program together up there and has a pretty good bunch putting the scout together. Toledo has the inside edge IMHO and Buffalo has some pretty good talent and game plannng right on their heels. EMU and others are not too far behind. Interesting to see Keno Davis making some inroads with recruiting and performance.

It seems to be the Rockets to lose IMHO. I remember talking to Garber on an unoffical in the convo a few years back. He looks like he found a pretty nice gig in Toledo.

I thought Juice was the best player in the conference last year.

I have a feeling Central is going to be better than everyone expects. We'll see in that week #1 match up against the Rockets.
