I continue to hear the same basic message from Saul over these past few weeks.
"We are making progress, we are just a little off and this is the difference between a W and a L."
In my opinion he needs another line if we continue to loose.
Does he really think we will perform better in conference play?
I am getting impression that he does not know what to say about the team that woul improve his credibility with the press as well as the fan base.

I hope we don't continue to "loose"....the horses might get out.

That said, Saul is right. He can see the edge between the wins and the losses. It is not a huge Chasm. He is putting a bunch of bodies together and continuing to recruit the next few classes. I hope he is positively positive in the locker room. The man loves hoops and loves to talk hoops but also realizes the fanbase is hanging on his every word so he needs to stick to common coachspeak and make sure he is reporting what he can. We are getting better day by day. Groce used 1% better every day. I am not sure what TOS or JC said but they all want to get better every day and do what they can to get there. I think Saul is a coach with a mandate. He understands where OHIO is and where he wants it to go. He has others recruits just as JC and JG did.

I have no doubt that if we could go back we would find words and expectations of each when they came in that were not commensurate with the level folks expected. Who can forget TOS criticism of losing at BG year in and out. JG's conference record comments, JC's lack of getting a sweet 16 team to perform?

it is a process and we have had some upheaval. We are on a road and the future looks much better to me than the fourth of July 2008 when I met Groce and Holtmann in a darkened Convo. I know many of you have been here longer than I or have been around NCAA ball a few more years than I, but, having watched with great attentiveness since Loyola won their title I have seen programs rise and fall and some sustain. I look for us to continue to rise and am patient enough to understand the process. Once we are there it will take fans with level heads to stay there.
