OHIO (12-3; 3-1) takes on Central (9-6; 4-0) today (Sat.) at 2:00 in our Roundhouse. This should be the game to see as both teams are in 1st place in their MAC divisions and the Chips have MAC POY 6-0 G Crystal Bradford, a preseason 1st team High Major All American. Last year she was a member of the U.S. World Games team. She leads their team in practically everything.

This was a clinic from the opening tip. OHIO ran off the 1st 9 points and never looked back. Haven’t seen a well played game like this since the Caroline Mast era. Cats played as a team for 40 minutes. Defense was tenacious. When their star Bradford had the ball up top, someone was right on her and if she drove, they collapsed on her and she was unable to find open players. She was 2 for 16 from the field, probably her worst game ever. Their coach threw a zone at OHIO and stayed with it despite the Cats shooting 39% beyond the arc. Black was on-21 points on 50% shooting. Witherspoon was solid with 8 boards and Lampkins had 9 points and 6 assists. Michigan State transfer Mariah Harris had a break out game. The game ball, IMO, goes to the whole team, starting with the coaching staff’s game plan.

Attendance was 1127 and similar to the volleyball team in that it was essentially all community members who were well engaged. Students are clueless what they have within a half mile of their home.

I am extremely disappointed in the Ozone and students for their lack of attendance and appreciation of this team.

Wow! What a win!

Lou, the O Zone has never supported the women's team.

Enjoy Coach Boldon while you can; he will not be @ Ohio for long.

Was there any increased interest at all when Crawley had the team doing decent?

But, Jeff, that's not a good thing; and it doesn't lessen the disappointment with the overall lack of student support.
Maybe you should break out the face paint and wig to lead by example???

It seemed that support and interest did increase in the Crawley years. Not to any significant degree, and certainly not enough to keep an up and coming coach from bolting for a good payday, but a little. I hope Boldon stays but Schaus is probably already working on his short list.
