Sorry. Can't pass up a reference to quote that.

I've been vocal about our team's lack of effort and willingness to fight, so I also want to be vocal about when they give a good effort and play 40 minutes like they want to win. We lost to a better team, but it's not because we rolled over. Here's to this being the start of a new trend.

Tonight felt like a W in this sense. I hope the guys feel encouraged by the way they fought. It wasn't an epic effort or anything extraordinary but it was sufficient and something that they can build on.

Agree - A very obvious step up in intensity, effort, and energy.

Do we see the same at Kent, and at Ball State? The preceding track record would make me say that it's unlikely that this will carry over consistently. Man, do I hope I'm wrong.

I'm extremely satisfied with two full halfs of solid effort.

Different game if he had a guy with good hands in the paint. Rebounding and ball handling when guards penetrate are brutal.

I'm also excited that good effort wasn't good enough for Saul in his post game. Sunshine and lollipops wasn't working real good.

We just got to keep the faith.

The only thing ase important as effort is IQ and focus (to go along with talent). I still say we have some parts. But, effort ain't gonna get this group over any humps if they don't play a lot smarter. We still shoot way too much early in the clock which is what opponents want us to do. Then we need to really focus for 40 minutes. I go back to that FT at then end of the game where we have 4 guys in the lane and Toledo has ONLY the shooter. The shooter gets the rebound?!?! WTF!
