OHIO (13-3; 4-1) take on NIU (6-8; 2-3) at 7:00 in the Roundhouse. The only mutual opponent is Central who beat them at home by 13 while the Cats beat the Chips by 20 in A-Town. But Northern played Mizzou (a decent team) close in Columbia, so you can’t take anyone for granted.

According to the OHIO athletic site: With 155 3-pointers, the Cats are “on pace to set the school record in three-point shots made for the women’s program (234), the men’s program (278) and the MAC record (294)”.

Ohio is fifth in the nation in three-point field goals per game (9.4), and tenth in turnover margin (+7.14).

Kiyanna Black leads the MAC in three-point field goals made and is 5th in the nation, at 3.4/game.

Shoot' em down OHIO

p.s. For a perspective on how good UConn is, they have a mutual opponent with OHIO- E. Carolina. Cats lost at home by 11 while UConn, on the road, won by 51.

Why do they schedule these games at the exact same time as the men's games? The old double-header format was much better, IMHO.

I imagine you don't want midweek games starting at 5 or 9:30.

On the one hand, its good to know basketball games are on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

On the other hand, I wonder if going to a consistent Thursday - Sunday set up for Women's games would help at all.

Not a bad idea, IMHO.

Had never thought about that but it seems like a very good idea. I think you would get more attention.

Another impressive win last night. I haven't been to many women's games but I'd imagine that our depth is a luxury that most teams in the MAC don't enjoy. Most games it seems like everyone who is healthy gets some run. Multiple times last night there were 5 subs checking into/out of the game. I'd love to see this team get on a run in March!

The depth next year will be phenomenal.

We lose only 1 senior

A frosh starter from last year's team is redshirting this year because of injury

Our only frosh who played early in the year also got a redshirt year due to a broken foot

Boldon & Company are bringing in 5 new players
