Yes, it's Miami but it's also Charlie. Take some time to watch the videos - one of them is painful - and vote.

I used to love when the O-zone would chant "sit down charlie !!"
.. he would look over at the O-zone and do just that ..
Charlie Coles was a class act

Loved it when Coles would come to the Convo.. Always acknowledged the Ozone and was so much fun. Definitely not the same without him on the sideline. He brought another element to the rivalry.

When he would point at us in the OZone and smile in the middle of an intense moment on the floor...once in the middle of a MAC semifinal game at The Q, I wondered why college basketball and sports in general couldn't always be this much fun? Why are we obsessed with creating this VERY SERIOUS atmosphere around guys throwing a ball at a metal hoop? Charlie Coles proved basketball could be fun and played at a high level. It can be simultaneously intense and joyous.

2001 is, obviously, the winner, but I refuse to vote for it. I love Charlie as much as the next BAer, but I just can't vote for something that involves both an OHIO defeat and Benedict Arnold Grunkemeyer. Sorry.

100% Agreed. Especially about "Benedict Arnold Grunkemeyer"

I lived in Oxford during that Sweet 16 run and made it to a handful of games because I could walk to Millett. That was the last time that carpeted mausoleum had a decent atmosphere. My vote is with that Szczerbiak team. I know they've had some OK teams since then, but there haven't been many. Besides, when they happen no one seems to care. Miami's not even that fun to hate anymore.

That Wally class was as good as any recruiting class ever in the MAC. Not only Wally, but also Damon Frierson and a point guard, out of Minnesota I believe, that I need help in remembering his name.

That Kent State team in the great 8 was much better than that Miami team - in my opinion.

Saw Chandler Thomson's mom and dad at the Muncie Central game tonite. A guy walking down the stairs stopped to talk to Pops about the monster dunk in the NCAA tourney back in what...1991? Crazy. Legends live on.
