On this date in 1804 Ohio's first and finest university was officially founded.

Legend has it that to celebrate the founding Manasseh Cutler, Rufus Putnam and Don Peden stole a barrel of Ye Old Milwaukee's Finest Ale from the Greenery Tavern and rolled it up Court Street to Jeff Hill where the guys met up with some coeds. They used wooden food trays from the local food buggy as sleds and the local fiddle player supplied the tunes (but he refused to play Devil Went Down to Georgia). Everyone was having a good time until the Constable showed up and Rufus punched his horse and all hell broke loose. It was good times.

In 2010, we took a pilgrimage to Boston to find the site of the Bunch of Grapes tavern. The plaque is awkwardly positioned.

Perimeter Post, I think maybe OhiCatFan and I were on Jeff Hill on the caffeteria trays....I will check with him he is down the hall here at Hickory Creek....I think Rufus and Don Peden skidded right into the flood waters in the parking lots under the dorms...time for a hot dog from the Union, or a BBf, or a nap !

Are you the guys that flew into the bush right outside my Lincoln Hall window?

Homage is having a 1-day sale for Founder's Day. Some of the best materials I've ever worn.
