The OHIO ladies (20-3, 11-1) with another great effort although the performance was a bit off at times, take care of the Deadhawks (4-19, 1-11) in Oxford, 67-45, in the front end of the OHIO-Miami twin bill. It’s their 10th straight win, led by Q. Lampkins slashing to the hoop and Hannah Boesinger mixing it up physically all over the court, leading the way. Another solid effort on defense along with good decision-making on offense as OHIO continues their Cinderella season.

I must ask once again, when the Convo hosts a doubleheader, why don’t we play them back to back? Greater attendance, more chances for followers of the men to see and appreciate the women, plus it's less costly to the university.

Great point about playing back to back. When will the game administrators wake up to this ?

I used to enjoy the doubleheader format back in my day, Mast and the Lady Cats followed by a quality men's crew led by Danny. Still have no idea why a league like the MAC wouldn't use this format.

Did anyone else notice that the Miami women's team had a lights out intro along with a video, plus a rather vocal student section. None of that occurred with the men's game.

When they went away from the doubleheader format it was because they said they wanted women's basketball to develop a separate identity and not to be viewed as just an appendage of the men's program. It was strike for women's liberation, so to speak. At the time, I thought it made some sense, but I think in today's environment it is past its time of usefulness.

There were, and continue to be, several good reasons to play doubleheaders.

But what it comes down to is that scheduling the doubleheader makes one team a de facto JV squad. And that alone is why I'm in favor of scheduling separately.

Now with a 2-game lead and 6 games remaining, it comes to mind to ask if the WNIT observes the same automatic qualification rule for regular season conference champions.

What is Ohio's current RPI? I am surprised they have not gotten at least one vote in the top 25 for honorable mention.

What if you alternated the slots? One team is first, then they're second.

any scenario when the men play first would not be good. How are the women supposed to feel when there is a mass exodus during warmups? Get more eyes on the waning moments of a win will be most beneficial.

I think you'd have a decent amount of people remaining. It's worth a shot, no?

Sagarin has them down at #50 thanks to a Schedule Strength of #204. Looking at the top 25, I think the mid-majors get poo-poo'd even more than they do in Men's, and possibly for good reason as I think there is a bigger disparity. But I still think we have a shot at an at-large and/or some top 25 votes heading into the MAC tourney if we win out the regular season.

Unfortunately not. What got my interest was reading the article in The Blade of the Bobcats destroying BUGS and seeing what a fine season the women were having. I was simply surprised there was not much note of them on the board. First BUGS women have been a powerhouse in the league and second, just happy to see any Falcon team beaten so badly.

Lastly, I apologize to any of the Bobcat faithful who may have taken my original post so personally. Although, I must admit, I didn't realize there must be a rule indicating the percentage of posts one must have on a given topic. For this transgression, I am truly sorry.
