I never ceases to amaze me how close the families of the Freeman-Cooper-Keeley-Baltic-McKinley-Taylor-Kellogg-probably-leaving-somebody-out-and-it's-not-on-purpose era grew and remain in touch.
I don't know that it happens to this level anywhere else.

I think it happens more than you think. The players aren't the only ones knee deep in the journey. Even though the families are from very diverse backgrounds they have all traveled similar paths and have many shared experiences. It's almost a built in support group.
