I wouldn't mind seeing Ohio employ the hack-a-shaq strategy with WMU forward Crump. Not a starter but gets a lot of minutes and is around 25% from the line. I recall WMU losing some close non-conference games where late in the game he threw up bricks at the line that cost the Broncos the game.

Wish I could be there. Such a fun weekend in Cleveland. Do they still have that big OU party at Barley House? I took my wife a few years ago and they had a 4ft tall ice luge of a Bobcat.

Meanwhile Jeff Borzello of ESPN reports on what Kansas Coach Bill Self recently had to say about the status of his two star players returning for the NCAA tournament. I guess HIPPA either only applies to smaller programs or Self (and Borzello) don’t care. Maybe someone here can point out what the distinction is because it’s not obvious to me.

They are a bad matchup for us because we have no one to guard Brown. They had 13 off reb on us so we got problems on the glass against them...

Please tell me who’s worse than WMU in the MAC Tournament because every single metric disagrees with your statement. They can be a difficult matchup and capable of upsetting us while still being the worst team in the tournament. They went 12-19 this year. We’re talking about the 297th ranked team in KenPom for crying out loud!

WMU went 5-10 in their final 15 games. Have the 277th ranked offense and 280th ranked defense in KenPom’s efficiency ratings. They have two Top 200 wins the entire season with one of them against Ohio.

They had a nice stretch heading into the MAC Tournament, going 4-2 in last six and defeating Akron but let’s not act like they’re suddenly a scary team. Their metrics are closer to NIU and EMU than Miami and Bowling Green.

If Ohio loses (which they could), it’ll be an AWFUL loss that Boals would deserve a ton of heat for.

Will Boals give OUr top players (Hunter, Clayton, Mitchell, Hadaway) major minutes tonight? A lot will depend on fouls and score differential.

Check out minutes played by some players on the winning teams earlier today: BG's Hill (40) and Agee (35); Kent's Santiago (40), Sullinger and Davis (34 each) and Bekelja, with possibly the least impressive stats among all starters in the MAC quarterfinals, (37). Akron had no players with more than 34 minutes (Ali Ali Ali with 34) possibly because Groce has a deeper bench and/or because of the final margin.
