Does anyone have any info on Chandler Thomas? I saw a few tweets on verbal commits that he was out indefinitely with hashtags #injuries.

Also, related question: With Thomas not playing this year, does he still have 2 years of eligibility left, or just 1?

I just cannot believe that this guy can't help in some way. I cannot believe that a 6-6 guy who has Division I experience, albeit at Grambling, wouldn't give us a couple of hustle minutes. I cannot believe he can't come in and give us what Laster gives us now. He would have dunked the pass that Laster got stuffed on when he was wide open underneath. I wish Arkley would get to it and ask Saul, what up with Chandler?

Arkley has posted and written stuff about Chandler's situation throughout the season.

I have known Chandler since he was a 3rd grader playing jeremiah Davis (Cincy, Balls) and marquis Teague (UK, Bulls) but I do not know how you can possibly know that "He would have dunked the pass that Laster got stuffed on when he was wide open underneath. ". I watched him through grade school, jr high,AAU, hs and college and do not know that he would have done anything better or different than Laster. laster is a frosh that needs time in the weight room and a better idea of the angles of hoops.

Can I borrow that clear ball you are peering into that gives you those sorts of omniscient visions?

I am of the opinion that many of the same people who think players over 6'5" should not shoot threes also think that those same players can "just dunk it" whenever they are near the basket.

Have no idea about whether he would have/could have dunked the ball etc.,. That said what was the logic extending a scholarship to a. Grad student that had no hope of seeing playing time? I understand we were short handed for bodies but seriously there were plenty of warm bodies at Ping that could have filled the same role as Thomas and they would not be costing Ohio a scholly. With the level of play we have seen this year and Thomas as a grad student can't get a smidgen of playing time makes one wonder what this staff saw in Thomas????? This makes no sense to me.

we extended a scholarship to a grad student from a low major program with explicit expectations made that he would see very little if any floor time and his biggest contribution would be as another warm body in practice, and now that those expectations are being met THERE MUST BE A CONSPIRACY.

Expectations are not being met if after one season your scholarship for next year is in question. He committed for 2 years not 1. He also had other offers, but chose Ohio University because this was the best choice. He is very committed to Ohio for 2 years playing or not. But for him next year is not a guarantee and that is not a choice of his.

Why does it matter? This isn't T-Mobile. It's not like you can roll over unused scholarships.

He's got just one left after this year. He's used a redshirt year already when he transfered from UMBC to Grambling. And he has played one minute this year with one missed shot and one rebound.

It is interesting that he can't get more than one minute all season. I know it was against inferior competition, but he averaged 8 points and 6 rebounds in 23 minutes last year, shooting 45 percent, including 37 percent on 3s. As has been noted before, he scored 26 points with 11 rebounds against Marquette, so he's played well against good teams before.

I'm confused too - confused why the Chandler Thomas conversation is coming up again with two games to go. There's a reason he's not playing. Saul is not obligated to tell anyone here why, and at this point in the year, I'm not sure why we're concerned about it. My biggest concern regarding Chandler at this juncture is that he earns that graduate degree from Ohio University.
