There once was the Wilderness Campaign.

Now we have the Great Depression of 2015.

We've been searching for a moniker for this season for a long time. Great Depression seems fitting.

We have the hope of a New Deal in 2015-2016.

1:17 mark to about 1:26 rings true in my head in a lot of ways for this season.

I forgot. How many years did the Great Depression last?
Well not a simple answer, but more than a few years. Ugh.

Well that makes sense.

When folks leave Friday maybe the department will steal a page from the football egress. Instead of something to get the taste out all will get Elavil to hold them over till next season.

Looks like Coach Phillips is packing the court with quite a few talented newcomers to rebuild for next season.

At this time, this season should be termed as a Recession.

A Depression, by definition, lasts two or more years.

Recession would be correct. A Depression would be six consecutive quarters of negative GDP growth.

Well one could argue that we've had negative growth every year since 2012.

2012 - .784 (Sweet 16)
2013 - .706 (MAC Regular Season)
2014 - .667 (CIT run)
2015 - .321 (the Year of the Bean)

After some thought, I think we need to name this movie in the spirit of a great disaster movie.

Like The China Syndrome, or Les Miserables.

I told you guys and gals, its the Peninsula Campaign -- like McClellan we took two steps backward for every step forward and eventually gave up and threw in the towel! ;-)

I guess Pete should clarify whether the movie should be a disaster or should be ABOUT a disaster

How about "The Green Mile"?? It's about death row during the Depression. It has the word green in it. Sounds good if you want a movie title.

Most people know of the Wilderness Campaign but not the Peninsula Campaign. We need something catchy. Sorry OCF.

The classic about the Titanic: "A Night to Remember"

Only ours would be "A Season to Forget."

The old saying is buy low, sell high. If Im looking to improve my season ticket location for next year its time to go in early and go in big.

It's an important part of our history and more people should know about it. We are an educational institution are we not. If the Peninsular Campaign had been waged by a more competent general the war could have been over about two years earlier and saved hundreds of thousands of lives. Woops . . . I guess I'm not making my point as this would imply we have the wrong general leading our hardwood troops. Sorry, forget that I brought up the subject! ;-(

Whatever name you want to hang on this season, and having just read more on Jim Boeheim up at Syracuse, I still think this would be a good time for the athletic department to impose a one-year ban on post-season play for our Bobcats.
