It was really exciting to see it in person in the Q. It was a rough start for our ladies shooting and Sweeney was scoring well. I wonder if the physical toll on EMU is what made the difference in the second half. I think that was their 5th or 6th game in barely a week. KB got heated up, Sweeney cooled off, and that was that.

Going to Tempe. That is not the result they wanted for a 4 loss season. I'm surprised they got dropped all the way to a 14.

We got screwed. Dominate our conference and we're a 14 seed in Arizona.

Albany with 8 losses against a much weaker schedule and no good wins at all gets a 13.

Very disappointing. 4-4 against the top 100 and undefeated against all teams outside of it:

And to add insult to injury, they're playing Arizona State @ Arizona State! Talk about having the cards stacked against them! I agree, Ohio got screwed!

They must think the MAC is absolutely nothing. How do you go 27-4 and not even get just ONE(1) vote for the top 25 and then get a 14 seed. Wow, I didn't realize the MAC was that weak.

It isn't. It gets better seeds that that in prior years with worse resumes and a similar conference RPI.

How about Princeton with a 13 RPI getting an 8 seed and the opportunity to play the #1 seed in the next round. There's your screw job.

Us, Princeton, GW, and JMU should be disappointed in the seeding.

Arizona State had to get the Pac-12 to move the gymnastics championships to Utah in order to host home games. Otherwise, Texas A&M would have hosted.

Agree with everyone, we got screwed. I was hoping for a 5 seed matchup and we get a 3- at their home! The only guarantee I have is that the ladies will show up and do what they've done all year, play 40 minutes of team ball. You know they're pumped and ready to play.

14 seed worked out well for the Men 3 years ago, let's give it a shot.

Women's hoops tends to be a little more predictable (maybe in part because of the home-court advantage). Whereas a 14 seed has defeated a 3 seed in men's basketball 18 times since 1986, it's never happened in women's basketball (0-84 since the women's tourney went to 64 teams in 1994). #15 seeds have never won either. #13 seeds are only 6-78 all-time in the first round. But the only time in either tournament a #16 seed ever beat a #1 was Harvard beating Stanford in the 1998 women's tournament, so you never know.
