After tonight, I'd say anything is possible, but this is a tough first assignment and somewhat difficult place to play. Go OHIO!

last match up vs WMU-

2pts
Ohio 20-34
WMU 19-31

3pts
Ohio 8-25
WMU 9-23

FTs
Ohio 5-7
WMU 15-20

Fouls
Ohio 21
WMU 11

Rebounds
Ohio 23
WMU 36

Last time out we shot even with them but got destroyed on the glass and with fouls, both indicators of hustle and discipline. Unfortunately the win over Miami re enforced what we've seen all season- the Bobcats are at their best when all of their wild shots go in and the other team gets down by 20pts. Fun games are fun.

I just want to see us play with some hustle for 40 minutes on Monday, even if we get down.

Nice performance tonight. Stay pissed, Bobcats.

I really wish the MAC would rework the brackets. Since the bottom 8 teams in the league have to win two games to get to the quarters, it's actually better to be a 3 or 4 seed than a 1 or 2. The 3 and 4 seeds are guaranteed to play a team that's playing its third game in four days, while the 1 and 2 seeds will likely play a team that's playing only its second game in that time. One way around this is to have 12-7, 11-8 and 10-9 matchup in the first round; the three winners would play 4, 5 and 6 in the second round; the quarters would have 6/7/12 playing 3 and 5/8/11 playing 4/9/10; then the winners of these two games would play 1 and 2 in the semis. It's a bit more equitable.

I actually feel like this will be our toughest game of the ones to come until the final. If we can win this one, we have proved we can beat Akron and Buffalo. Kent will also be difficult but if we are on a 3 game winning streak I like our chances.

It will be a night game. First round games are almost always at 7 or 8 PM.

Everything in Cleveland is 6:30 or 9:00, except the title game which is 7:30.
Ohio, being on the bottom of the bracket, would always be 9:00 in Cleveland, should they beat WMU

Before they went to this format, yes. When there were 4 games in a day it was 2 in the afternoon, 2 at night. But since they went to their current format of giving double and triple byes to the top 4 teams, there are never more than 2 games in a day. Now, the women are always in the day, and the men are always in the evening once it gets to Cleveland.

Ohio played with a tremendous amount of desire last night. If they can summon that again, they stand a chance.

Agree, JSF. Our guys executed the game plan - covering shooters well, especially early, and doing our best on screens and hedging. The interior help defense looked better than any game I've seen this season. Overall communication on both ends was good. Quite a few assists and some turnovers coming on passes instead of off the bounce. It helped that our opponent missed some easy shots and we shot well, which kept us from playing as much transition defense as in some other games.

We weathered two runs by M@#$i, one each half. Something we haven't done often in MAC play.

We've looked good on both ends of the floor on some nights when we're shooting well. Last night was more of the same, but the extremely good shooting made it a blowout instead of a close win like Akron or Buffalo.I would love to see us grind one out - win on a night when we're not shooting well. Western is a perfect opponent for that type of game.

Seems that our wins are like Fools Gold. We shoot a crazy percentage that can't be duplicated very often (DePaul, Ball State, the second half in the first Akron game, last night). But that's about the only way we can win. We did hang with them the first time, though. As long as we're playing I'll be hopeful.

Most dominant win of the year right before the tournament. No better time to get hot than right now.

Say everything between Western and OHIO were reversed and the first year Saul had led OHIO to 6th seed and a home game. Everyone here would be much more pleased with the season and the win total. But, if you beat WMU at home, then you'd still have to go through Akron/NIU, a rested Kent and Buffalo to make it to the title game!

Here's hoping Saul, knowing anything after the fourth seed is a crap shoot decided to play rope-a-dope in February and has a few March surprises up his team's sleeve!

Go Bobcats!

(Went to see Singing Men of Ohio in Norwalk last PM on their final stop of their Spring Tour--full house and really enjoyable)

That would be really phat if this is the case.

Anyway we have at least one more game to play this season.

I loved it when they had the noon games on Thursday at Cleveland. Nothing like getting ready to hit the road at 8am, stopping by Micky D's for breakfast at the 71/Rt 13 intersection, and getting there around 11:30. It was a good morning/afternoon.

If I recall WMU has a pay per view webcast, it might be that instead since its at home and not Cleveland.
