Agree, JSF. Our guys executed the game plan - covering shooters well, especially early, and doing our best on screens and hedging. The interior help defense looked better than any game I've seen this season. Overall communication on both ends was good. Quite a few assists and some turnovers coming on passes instead of off the bounce. It helped that our opponent missed some easy shots and we shot well, which kept us from playing as much transition defense as in some other games.
We weathered two runs by
M@#$i, one each half. Something we haven't done often in MAC play.
We've looked good on both ends of the floor on some nights when we're shooting well. Last night was more of the same, but the extremely good shooting made it a blowout instead of a close win like Akron or Buffalo.I would love to see us grind one out - win on a night when we're not shooting well. Western is a perfect opponent for that type of game.
