In looking over who has not graduated and who is expected in I think on balance it's OK. I say OK as there are so many unknowns, players that didn't play this year plus all the new faces.
My 1 concern is at the point guard position. We only have 1. With all the openings Saul had to recruit to fill I would have thought the PG would be a top priority, as we all know how important this position is in the college game.
After reading Jayson's article today on next years team it is really apparent that this can be classified as Saul's team, between the number of graduates and new faces. Now we will see what we paid $550k per for.

Good Arkley article linked on homepage talking with Saul about next year. Saul verifies that Thomas wont be back next year.

Those D.J. teams had Stevie as a backup but I believe Stevie only averaged less than 10 minutes per game. Just enough to spell D.J. I have heard from people that Jaaron is an impact player who will definitely be a pure point guard unlike Bean or even Stevie. If Jordy and Ryan Taylor can spell Simmons every so often we should be ok. This year's team will definitely have WAAAYYY more shooters with Gollon and Block added to Kaminski but my main worry is the inside play. Can Kaminski go inside? Can Doug Taylor come back from injury? Will Wadly play? If we're left with just Tony we're in trouble.

One could argue Thomas wasn't here this year.

Just 1 senior next year means just 1 scholly to give for 2016, swing for the fences. I wonder if one of the 5 incoming freshmen will red shirt.

And don't forget DJ's first two years we didn't have a true back up PG at all. Armon was the backup primary ballhandler in 2010, and Nick Kellogg filled in in 2011.

I think Ryan Taylor and Jordan Dartis give us more than enough ball handlers to make it work next year.

One of the things that I wonder about for next year is whether or not anyone returning, with the exception of Tony Campbell, is going to be able to crack the starting lineup.

The talk about all five incoming freshmen is pretty strong. It would seem that Dartis, Block, and Dozier are being expected to contribute and play significant minutes immediately. Toss in the certainty that Campbell, Kaminski, and Simmons will play major minutes, and there isn't a lot of floor time left. As I've said in other threads, I really like the competition that's going to exist for PT next year. It also means there will be depth, and to some folks pleasure, it means guys making "me first" decisions can at least in theory see time on the bench.

I'm ready to hear Saul speak at Caravan now!

I think we will see a pretty good team next year. I feel a little sorry for Taylor and Laster as they stepped in and played pretty well as true freshman as they were needed and probably won't see anywhere near as many minutes. I think we will see a redshirt or two. By 2016/17 this team will probably be the MAC favorite.
