I understand the reason for the other nominations, but is this vote really even necessary? It's Trent and only Trent.

Perhaps we should be voting on our second favorite PF of all time?

Not in the Trent/Hunter class, but I enjoyed Reggie Keely.

Dave "Bubba" Groff. Rumor has it the term "power" forward was invented about him.

+1

There's the Shaq of the MAC and everybody else trying to be the Shaq of the MAC.

Trent is the obvious favorite but as has been mentioned this is probably our strongest category for depth. We've already had about 6 or 7 mentioned and there are still some very, very good ones that haven't been mentioned...like Victor Alexander.

Plus it's always interesting hearing about the great players that were at Ohio before I got there in the 70s. For me the best part of the Centers thread, other than reminiscing was reading up on the Paul Storeys and Howie Jolliffs.

Besides, it's favorite not best. Gary Trent was no doubt our best player but he wasn't necessarily everyone's favorite. Treg Setty was my favorite player on this year's team but he clearly wasn't the best.

I'll second the following:

Hunter
Tillman
Washington
Keely
Ndour
Harbut

I didn't second Groff because I never saw him play.

I know enough about him to know that he needs to be seconded. Seconded.

Some great names. But I gotta nominate Shaun Stonerook. Such an exciting player to watch during his short time here.

Agreed. I second Stonerook - perhaps OSU's nicest gift to Ohio.

Hilt was so good that he needs a third. Whippersnappers who never saw him play can't really appreciate this guy's talent. And, in all my life, I've never seen as authoritative a dunk as when executed by Don Hilt. Gary Trent may have been able to jump higher than Hilt, and may have been slightly more athletic, but no one could slam the ball like Hilt.

[Do I recall hearing that Mr. Hilt passed away fairly recently? Or, am I getting him mixed up with another Bobcat cager of that era?]

I was on campus to see Bubba Groff play..I didn't even think he started for Gentleman Jim. Wasn't Mc Divitt playing this position?
