Well, sorry I forgot all those other schools nobody gives a crap about that use only the State name. Notice they are all in the middle of nowhere with no populations and NOT exactly football powers!

As for 99.9% of the universe calling us OHIO, perimeter, you have obviously never listened to Cincinnati TV sports shows where even the OHIO guys often refer to us as Ohio U or OU.
small time Ohio sports media is the 0.1%.

For what it's worth, I have received a notification from Cleveland.com on my phone that UA's President says that UA is not changing its name.
Reminds me of when Nancy Cartwright became president of Kent State in the 90s. She floated the idea of dropping State from the university's name. Uproar ensued and Nancy retreated.

And she's confined her ventures to being Bart Simpson's voice ever since (shout out for an Ohio attendee).

So they landed on using "Ohio's Polytechnic University" as their tag line if you will.

Yep. It appears to be lower case -- "Ohio's polytechnic university" -- and more of a brand rather than a name change.

So - they will continue to offer a "variety" of courses, focusing on "vocational and technical subjects", and just incorporate that bland purpose statement into a supposed improved selling message tag line????

And they wonder why some call it......
