An Indiana tradition...but I've seen plenty in Ohio, KY and Illinois. Got one out the back door

Love the barns. Here's a town infamous in Ohio for them, and for another amazing story. This is still the best basketball school in my alma mater's conference.

Coach Reese was a great man, always enjoyed visiting with him.

Billy,

Are you from that area? I never got a chance to meet him as an opposing player, but we always knew he would have his boys ready. We played Hiland in either the first or second game after he passed in their new gym. That was an emotional night.

I got my start playing barn ball. My much older brother would talk me into playing, which quickly turned into me rebounding the ball so he could shoot. We had a huge barn with a decent wooden floor in the hay loft. It was the perfect place for a hoop. We would place some bales of hay in strategic spots so that the ball couldn't bounce down to the lower level. Good times...

Barn ball, driveway ball, tennis ball into tomato juice can in the garage ball, old IOOF court above my dad's store ball, custodian's son's friends in the school gym ball, town park ball after little league games.. Ah the memories...thanks for sharing and sparking the memories.

How I learned to dunk - leverage right foot off side of barn as going up to the rim :)
