Imagine a scenario where Wiz gets his bag overseas and then donates towards NIL to bring in a big =)

Go Wiz, go!

Amare Stoudemire earned $55K a month. If they pay for a full year, which I doubt, he was making $600K as a former NBA All-Star. How much do we think the 8th man on the 4th best team in the MAC commands? :)

But according to so many here, The Whiz is going to get rich in Europe. And if The Whiz can continue playing this great game and get a paycheck....more power to him and congratulations.
"So many" - that line of course is now a lazy fallback made when actual numbers aren't able to support.

What is supported by so many is if he can continue playing this great game and get a paycheck....more power to him and congratulations. Indeed. Good for him. Hope he has a warm spot in his heart for OUr University.

Good luck young man. Looks like your status is no longer in question, nor demeaned. You're an Ohio graduate and always welcome back in Athens.

I just think it would be hilarious if it came around full circle like that. Wiz ends up being the one to provide us with that big man we've been dying for.

Sadly, you can't teach "class" to some people. So, he chastises Wiz for 2 years then chooses to make fun of his opportunity to make a decent living overseas. I guess the joke is on Leon.

And now, to make himself look even more pathetic he brings up Dozier. I guess he feels like a man criticizing guys 18-21. I imagine last Leon played was in 5th grade when the coach said he'd be best as team manager.

His drivel is why I no longer post.

I was hoping to see The Wiz back. I can't think of any other OHIO bigs who took some time to grow into their body then flourished at the end of their time in Athens

Hopefully he kills it overseas and makes bank.

NOTHING points to that happening. He was a total defensive liability while on the floor and was only slightly better on offense. It just didn't work out here that's all. We all wish him the best in the future.

I had high hopes for him in year three.

Sad to not see it come to fruition. In many aspects.

Total Liability? That would mean when he was on the court that the opponent would score 100% of the time. It would mean that Boals should have never sat a player to bring in Wiz because giving the player a blow would never be beneficial to the team results while resting the player and the TOTAL liability was giving up point after point and putting the opponent into the bonus.

I recall a BIG block or two late in the season. I also recall an opponent getting a T after Wiz apparently pissed him off. So TOTAL is a little strong.

Straw man argument. Nice try. A big block or two late in the season? 25+ games and that's all you got? Drew a technical foul on an opponent? Is that all the expectation you have for our 6'11" big man?

It's a losing argument OCF1. Even when you wish The Whiz well in raking in the cash overseas, people still think you are bashing the kid. There are some folks here who refuse to believe The Whiz was a swing and a miss. It’s not The Whiz's fault. It’s the coaching staffs at Louisville and Ohio who failed with their evaluations and development of The Whiz. The Whiz played in 65 games as an Ohio Bobcat. I can maybe think of 3 games over these 65 where I said to myself....ya know...The Whiz is getting better...he's really improved. One thing I never said over the last two years is that I can't wait for The Whiz to have a third year in Athens. Those who love The Whiz need to ask themselves this....if we had a Myles Foster type player last year, do we beat Akron in the MAC semifinals? I think we do. And I think 99.9% on this board would say so.

Bottom line....this is where I am with The Whiz and his legacy:

It's ok to say The Whiz was a swing and a miss.
It's ok to say this staff whiffed when it came to recruiting and developing The Whiz over 24 months and 65 games.
It's ok to say we thank you The Whiz for your contributions as a Bobcat. Once a Bobcat...always a Bobcat. You played hard and gave it your all.
It's ok to say...best of luck overseas...and make it rain with your big man skills in the paint.

I, for one, am happy to see the Wiz move on. I'm even more happy that he's going to be paid to play a game that he loves. I hope that he can have the opportunity to do that for as long as he likes.

Yea I'm totally blind to that. If he goes on to flourish in the game somewhere I'll be the first to admit I was wrong.

Yup...I'm a dick because god forbid somebody on here says a Bobcat recruit at a position of severe need the last two years....especially this past season...was a swing and a miss on the recruiting trail. The Whiz was a bust and others have said it here as well over the last 24 months. I have never wished bad things on The Whiz and I wish he could have made a significant jump in skill from his first year in a Bobcat uniform to the second. He didn't. And sorry...his play hurt the team more than it helped. And if you don't believe this BTC, then you didn't watch one minute of Bobcat basketball the last two seasons. And you know what...it's not The Whiz's fault. I don't blame him it all. He didn't have the skill to play at this level. Chris Mack learned that at Louisville and then the Ohio coaching staff took a risk on The Whiz and it didn't pan out. It's on Boals and Company to make The Whiz better and develop him and it never happened. And once again as I have said multiple times, I hope The Whiz kills it overseas and makes it rain with that Euro cash. I am rooting for him to make it happen.

And with that BTC and SBH….I’m out of this thread. You can continue to call me a dick and use all caps as well.
