Trying to watch the live streams of the home games with a chromecast was a waste. Has anybody tried it with a smart tv that has a full web browser in it?

If so, how did it turn out?

I have a smart tv, and I cannot load apps (maybe I'm not smart enough), but ESPN3 is not one of my apps, so it's a no go.

What brand and model is it? If the features of the t.v. list full web browing then it has it. If not, probably not. I bought a Sharp Aquos 1080p smart tv and it has the most brilliant picture quality I've ever seen. Unfortunately it's also the most dumb "smart tv" I've ever seen and will not buy this brand again. I turn it off when leaving for work in the a.m. and when I get home it doesn't even remember what input I left it on. It's has no control panel on the t.v. - NONE.... if the remote ever craps out, you basically have nothing.

The on screen web browsing seems to work good but the wireless keyboard I bought to use with it for some reason was not a good match.

I have a smart tv but a dumb operator so my solution is use a HDMI cable from my iPad with a $30 adapter or use my HP laptop with HDMI cable or VGA cable to the TV.

I stream the ohiobobcats.com game feeds for basketball from my laptop to my TV using the chromecast extension from the Google Chrome browser, and it works fine for me.

For games on ESPN3, I use the Watch ESPN app. It has a chromecast extension built in that I can just use from my Ipad or phone.
