No more football to get in the way until signing day.

(okay, maybe just my sentiments)

Nahhhhhhh

I think there are a few that wait till FB is over to migrate over here. I look at the FB board regularly but don't have much to say. I think there are a few of those here and a few more that just wait till FB is over to come on in.

To everyone joining the season all in progress...welcome and ....just to catch you up. There is a pretty young but fun to watch team out on OUr floor. The frosh are logging some good minutes, Wadley is seemingly out of his health situation and Tony is playing well inside/out. Block, Dartis and Gollon are new names you'll hear along with Taylor at times. Harley is still here and doing his part. The new floor general is transferred in Dayton native Simmons and Kenny Kaminski is another transfer that is a long range sniper (3 > 2). Treg is the lead by example hustler and Laster rounds out the regulars. SO ......welcome to a pretty decent season shaping up as they have beat the ones they are supposed to beat and been close to a couple of upsets. Here is to finishing out the non con and watching a young team as they get a full dose of MAC play and learn to walk into BG, Kron Stow and conquer those places we have a hard time winning and then visit the morgue in OXford and the empty cavern in Muncie with a cold trip to Mt Pleasant and a visit to Savage. Welcome indoors to the Convo. Jump right in the conversation and don't be shy.....

Not aiming this at you OUCountry, but those who can't follow football and basketball at the same time...this isn't worthy of Div I sports program. TheRe has been an overlap in seasons for a long time now. Those who barely care what's happening with basketball, then start asking what's up after the last football game...we are never going to reach our potential as a Div I program with that kind of nonchalant mindset.

It's always hoops here Jeff but I would be insulted if I were told because I do not follow FB assiduously I was not worthy..... I watched last night, putting hoops on hold for a minute, and turned it off dutifully with 6 mins left in hopes it would help us prevent a meltdown (loyal Bears fan with high hopes of helping any way I can), and I watched the NIU game with great excitement but I realize there are FB fans that are as fanatic about OHIO FB as I am about hoops. Room for all here. Support at will.

Well guess I may have been too rigid in my opinion. But I don't understand those who think hoops season doesn't start until football is over .

Agreed. And I didn't think there was aim, Jeff. I am certainly more of a hoops fan than football. I'm not sure how soon that will change. My high points for OU football ends when Saturday tailgating goes away. Coincidentally, when the weeknight ESPN games start, it's usually close to basketball season beginning. I still watch football, but my focus has shifted by then.

The folks I don't understand are the ones that think college hoops is "boring" until March Madness. That's a head scratcher for me.

Jeff, hoping you aren't disillusioned when you hear me say: "I love college basketball but really can't get into it till after the last bowl game."

With football actually being decent the last decade or so, some attention is probably drawn away from basketball until it's over. But I'm with the others. It's always basketball season for me.
