Good win. Setty continues to have the ball in his hands WAY too much tho.

Good to also see the young guys continue to develop. Still waiting for Kaminsky to light it up...he was ice cold in this game.

Nice win. Looked like a decent Ohio crowd.

Lots of big contributions, obviously a monster game from Tony, another smooth Simmons game, Dartis with a nice shooting stretch, big 6 minutes from Taylor. Kominsky needs to get more active, mix it up a bit. The shot will come. Block looks like he belongs. Setty: I hate him!- I love him! I ??

What happened to Harley. He goes from starting to not seeing the floor.

Wasn't in uniform. Looks like he tweaked his back.

Simmons continues to stuff the turnover stat. 6 this game. Sometimes it appears that he gets himself in trouble and then is forced to make a bad pass which leads to a turnover.
Another game with inconsistent play i.e. Kaminski, Wadly, etc.
Dartis appears to be a solid contributor, better than Block and should continue to start.
Our bench needs work!

A good win against a struggling team with a loosing record.

Our bench is a strength.

Good Ohio fan turnout today at Bash and game. Kaminski hobbled early in game and never really got in flow. Wonder if they'll hold him out Tuesday? Simmons good game overall but the turnover problem persists. Still, he creates loads of problems for the opponents. Team struggled with perimeter D in stretches. SeemeD like we tried zone a little. Did a little better stopping dribble penetration as game wore on. Only reason CSU kept the game this close was the ungodly number of threes they got. They came into game shooting 28% but were close to 50% today.

Campbell was fun to watch today. Dominant in stretches. Athleticism and skill impressive. Intensity level may have been highest of year.

Dartis is a great addition. Offensively he's explosive. Defensively he is a work in progress.

Taylor had some good minutes today. Hustled and used his size well.

OUr bench was outscored by CSU's bench 25 to 15. We had just 40 minutes of relief from 4 bench players with Block the only one to play more than 8 minutes. No Gollon, No Harley. Our starting PG and SG got a total of 3 minutes of relief. OUr bench was not our strength today.

It's just one game. We get Harley back in the rotation and our bench will be fine. We've had games this year where the bench was productive.

Numbers notwithstanding ( :) ), I agree with Jeff in that the bench is a strength, I.e. the front court bench. Ohio got significant minutes out of Block and Taylor today. Block may not have scored a lot but Ohio's plus/minus when he was on the court had to be at least even. That kid can play. And Taylor had some productive minutes too.

Along with Campbell et al, Ohio has some seriously talented height!

Fun game today. I enjoyed seeing our crowd taking over another team's building. Our players seemed to feed off it too.

I was really impressed watching Tony's work in the post in person. Very agile around the basket. CSU has no answer. I also liked what I saw from Jordy on the perimeter.

I look forward these guys again here in March.

3,261 of us paid to see it, which surprised me some given good weather on a Saturday. But it was in line with the Kent game

I would put the crowd at 3/4 Ohio though

Nightcap going well too, Monsters up 1-0

I agree that might have ball in his hands too much but he also gets to the ball very well. His hustle and his willingness to stick around a loose ball is more good than bad.

He seems irelatively much more steady so far this year than last year.

Like most here, I think this team's potential is great.

There is potential there to be sure, but I don't think it will be realized this year, although if this team survives conference play, it may make some noise in the MAC Tourney.

This team needs time to play together. Give it the rest of this year and a whole offseason together and next year could be something special.

CSU has no answer.
We sat behind some CSU faithful (nice folks) that said this was supposed to be 'the' year, but instead is becoming a rebuilding year. They had a couple kids transfer out I think they said due to the 5th year grad rule - to Louisville & Wichita State, and a medical hardship transfer to Michigan State. I can't blame them for wondering what might have been with probably 3 best players. That would have made for a vastly different game.

After a slow start Bobcats got it going on both ends of the floor. A lot more positives in this game than the some of the other games. Wadley, Taylor, Block contributions were huge off the bench. The glaring question is guard depth behind Simmons. We need to develop another solid ball handler. We can't afford to sit Simmons for too long because Simmons is really everything we got at the point.

with full acknowledgement of the shortcomings of the RPI, here's a snapshot of Ohio's non conference schedule with RPI included-

42 L Tulsa(6-3)
84 L Florida St(5-2)
104 L St. Bona(6-2)

163 ? AR Pine-Bluff(2-7)
179 W FGCU(3-4)
198 ? Jackson St(2-6)
217 W Cleveland St(1-7)
231 W Tenn St(4-2)
252 W Marshall(2-6)
259 W Norfolk St(2-4)
286 ? UC Riveride(4-4)

183 avg opponent(37-47)

As it stands, AR Pine-Bluff(2-7) could end up being our best non conference win.

Thanks Ted for putting this up. Post game recaps are just one of the upgrades Russ has brought to the media side since Warren left. Good stuff that I usually have to run down if I am at another game or function while the Cats are on. Made it nice to have on BA this am.

Nice road win! I was impressed with our big guys footwork and interior passing. Kaminski was limping a bit, so I hope he's okay. Was Taylor recently hurt? I noticed the big brace on his knee. I think we have potential to be a good team this year.

Maybe yesterday but overall we have a good bench. Keep in mind that 15 points came from a guy who is normally not a starter. With Mompremier, Dartis and Block as the first three guys off the bench that is pretty solid. Would love to know what Gollon did to irk Saul because it seemed like he has a very good first half against St. Bonaventure and has only played about 1 minute since. I didn't see much of that game so I have no idea.

Taylor blew out his knee at the end of his senior year. There was some worry that he wasn't going to be ready for the start of this year but he healed quickly and has looked good in limited minutes IMO.

I think the worst thing that could happen is for Simmons to worry too much about turnovers and stop creating. I think some of it will fix itself as the players become more familiar with each other and with the offense. But if he stops attacking our offense is going to really suffer. We need him to attack IMO.

If my memory serves me, Taylor went down with knee surgery in Christmas break tournament down south somewhere and sat out rest of senior season. Not a bad third option behind Tone and Wadley.
