Wasn't there prior discussions about our scoreboard situation with comparisons to Purdue's basketball arena. As I remember it, there was no reason we couldn't have a hanging board like Purdue because the 2 arenas were basically clones. Decided to watch osu/purdue and am actually looking at their facility. I may be wrong, never been to Mackey, but it does not appear that there is any hanging board. It also appears their boards are in the corners like ours and go all the way to the floor with lots of people seated in front of them. It looks far worse than our situation. They may have boards on the sides above the crowd fixed to the walls for all to see, but they don't scan to that area often or high enough, as of yet. Just thought I'd throw out what I'm seeing and thinking what I see isn't what was presented in the discussions.

There is a center hung scoreboard. I watched last night as well and it was visible in a couple shots.

The shot in the link really shows how similar the arenas are. It also shows a big, fat, heavy scoreboard:

You are right they are similar and that is a big fat scoreboard

https://images.duckduckgo.com/iu/?u=http%3A%2F%2Fmedia-ca...

THe floor has boards at each end down low with clock and score while there are vid boards up top that have stats and line scoring of players currently in the game.

The biggest difference is the lack of dorms and the second story....and the fact that there are no chairs. All bleachers till the latest remodel which placed some limited chair seating for the upper krust down low. I laughed as some Muncie folks with seat licenses were grumbling about the cost....when I asked how much I immediately thought of certain folks who would have posted on BA regarding the fees and offered their outrage and discontent.
