Have been attending those since they were started in Vandalia (next to the airport hence the name) courtesy of my mom's hairdresser who was an original sponsor with extra tix. Always a great day of talent on display with coaches present. Was just laying here watching Carolina decimate Seahawks and wondering how many of my friends made it there this year. Lots of young talent on display as I was goin thru the website last night. flyintothehoop.com Have seen quite a few Bobcats in the stands over the years and talked with quite a few athletes from Bradds to Von Wafer. Fun stuff ....Northridge...eeshe.. they were in our conference growing up. Trotwood, Northmont, Greenville...voices of the past.

Not your fathers Northridge today, Coach Lisath has quickly turned the tables in a very short time. Made the Regionals last year for the first time in decades and has them highly poised for a deep run this year. Coach has been nothing but a winner since he was on the playground at Bannon Park.

I'm sure Borna, when you were playing them back in the day it was like a bye

The organizer of the tourney (Eric) has been a client of mine for years, he always has some fascinating stories of the process of scheduling games and such. It is easily a top 3 tournament in the entire nation if not top 1.

That's great news for Northridge. I have always had a place in my heart for them. In the late 70's, my cousin was the Polar Bear mascot (she just retired from teaching after 30+ years in their school system). I spent many nights watching Jimmy Pollard light it up for Northridge before going on to Arizona State. The intervening years haven't been kind. A lot of families moving their kids to Vandalia Butler or even Dayton Public from there. There traditionally hasn't been a lot of support for their athletic programs.

As for who Ohio may be recruiting, I'll check the schools. I am usually there for at least one day of the tourney every year but was at my duaghter's tournament this weekend. The amount of college coaches there is amazing. I have seen Fuss there in the past. Ran into Matt Muncy there last year. He was training Duke-bound Luke Kennard.

Counted 6 MAC schools there yesterday as well as Huggie-Bear

Ted, unfortunately, a Miami Grad has brought Northridge back to prominence. Even so, he's an old teammate and a good guy.

3rd season, at Northridge, 1st year he took them to their first winning season in decades, then last year their first District Title since the 40's and this year they have picked right up. Tough region, but this old Trojan will be rooting for Lice. The guy knows nothing but winning and character.

And if you are a basketball junkie, you need to check out the Bannon Park Classic for some highly competitive blacktop basketball.

Sonny Johnson brings his Garfield Heights team every year. They lost to Huntington Prep yesterday. He and Calipari bro-hugged a couple of years ago. Greasing the skids for Little Sonny.
