I guess this can be relative to who is playing well at a given time, but I've always considered the three games I circle on the schedule to be Akron, Kent, Miami. Almost always.

Same here. Plus another team that refuses to play us more than once a decade..........

I'm glad you pointed that out. I'd definitely list them with Kent, Akron, and Miami.

As a side note, I'd love to hear from the EMU voters. I'm assuming there's a personal reason for that, such as having friends or family that went there.

A few more Bobby Hurley temper tantrums would've boosted Buffalo on this list had he stayed a couple more years.

Or people just messing with a poll.

If I had to rank:

1. Miami
2. Akron
3a. Kent State
3b. Buffalo
5. Western Michigan

The Buffalo games in basketball feel like the Temple games did in football. We aren't technically rivals, but its usually always an important game that is played close. Plus, there's always the "What is Buffalo sucks?" factor.

I think I have Buffalo ahead of Kent. Kent was really good for a long stretch but I never felt that much animosity towards them. My list is:

1. Miami
2. Akron
3. Buffalo
4. Kent
5. Marshall

Everybody else in the MAC is tied for 6th.

My animosity toward Buffs come from a totally boorish and somewhat seemingly privileged upstate NY vibe student section. And the assistant coach that made an arse of himself...constantly .....then taunted Ohio players and fans post game, in the convo no less. That said the only team I get up for is Fiami...and of course Balls ....

Me either... well, except for those 8 years Gerwig was a student there.

Its because Kent doesn't have the ego of Akron. Difference in personality.
