Hope you make plans to come watch Boldon's crew (15-3, 7-0) take on their MAC East rival in Akron (10-8, 4-3) at 7 p.m.

Akron lost their star player (and MAC player of the year last season) in Sina King last year. Anita Brown (21.9 PPG) and Hannah Plybon (13.7 PPG) carry the load offensively. Akron hasn't had any significant non-con victories and they were recently blown out by CMU (81-60).

The Bobcats will be tested, but this should be one that they'll be able to handle. Hope you're able to come out and support the girls tomorrow night.

If not, American Sports Network/ESPN3 will have it live, and Jake Hromada has the radio coverage on WOUB-AM.

Solid 20 point win, but played much better and cleaner in the first half than the second. Lots of turnovers and sloppy play in the second half. Why Akron chose not to guard Kelly Karlis at the arc in the first half was sort of a mystery. She and Jasmine Weatherspoon had a ton of blocks combined in this game. Don't know the actual number but it had to be nearly 10 blocked shots.

The box score credits the team with 14 blocks (6 for Weatherspoon and 3 for Karlis). I saw some stats yesterday and didnt realize the ladies were leading the league in blocked shots. I also found it interesting they have the second best defense in the league (points wise) but are last in the league in rebounding margin.

14 blocks broke the school record. Welcome to our block party.

I liked how difficult Ohio made it for Brown and Plybon to score. Plybon had just one FGM and was 0-9 (I believe) from 3pt. You could visually see how frustrated Brown was with Ohio's defense, she could've easily put up more points then she did. Ohio's defense is truly their strongpoint.

About Karlis.. I wasn't surprised to see her get 11 PTS last night, nor was the coaching staff. She has been struggling with her shot, but it was really over a matter of time until she finally got going. Everyone on the team sees her make those shots in practice & warm-up, just never in a game setting. I still am very high on Karlis on both ends of the ball.

Big game though this Saturday in Muncie! Much like Ohio & Akron last year was the, "Battle for the MAC", the game at Ball State will be the same, in a way. Ball State's only MAC loss was at the Convo. It'll be a fun one.

I thought Brown should have been T'd up for glaring at the official in the first half. It was pretty excessive, in my opinion, like she was trying to intimidate the ref.

The defensive positioning, footwork on their switches and their help side rotations are very very solid.

Enjoyed the Akron game and the outstanding play of OHIO. Does anyone know if the Ball State game will be televised or on a webcast anywhere. I know BSU does a lot of webcasting of men's sports, so maybe they'll do the ladies, too.

I was shocked they didn't T her up for that.. She had a lot of unsportsmanlike attitude last night. I think she deserved a technical.

They should have ESPN3 there.. Ball State has some of the best broadcast coverage in the MAC. A lot of students I know there do a great job w/ play-by-play. I think Ball State is ahead of the game with their student broadcast coverage. They brought TWO radio teams to Ohio when they came to Athens.

I'd be shocked if they didn't have a webcast/ESPN3. If not, sorry you'll have to settle with our WOUB stream haha

Are there legit at-large chances? Or just pie-in-the-sky?? Don't know enough about the WBB selection process.
