While I'm not sure if the Lady Bobcats would get in without winning the MAC tournament we can still look forward with the hopes that this magical run will continue.

I just saw that ESPN put out a Women's Bracketology and the Lady Bobcats were seeded 11th, to hypothetically play against 6th seeded Washington in Lexington KY. If you recall last year they only garnered a 14th seed which sent them out to Tempe against ASU. Best chance for a nice OHIO crowd to make a pilgrimage would be to get placed in the Lexington bracket or as a consolation get placed in the Lexington site for the Dallas bracket. Here is to hoping, I was lucky enough to be in Arizona last year, would love to make a trip with better results this year.

I saw that last week. They're basically right behind the last at-larges, which are all seeded 10th. It's hard to say how close to those teams they are or if they could move into position for an at-large if they keep winning. Either way, the Bobcats definitely are in position to get a better seed and hopefully a better draw as a result.

It's nice to think we could be a lock, but let's be honest...winning is the only guarantee. Let's not leave any doubt!

The very first game of the season could be their doom, losing to a bad Illinois team. The Indiana win helps to offset it a bit, but they are probably not an at-large candidate. I think they'll basically need to go undefeated to get an at-large, but I admittedly don't know much about the landscape of the ladies game.

The Illinois loss isn't doing that much damage. We currently sit at #33 overall in RPI. Top 45 is serious at-large consideration territory. Considering we already beat the other very good team in the MAC by 25, I think we're in good shape barring any real clunkers.

To me, it's an ominous sign that we are getting zero top 25 votes in both the AP ad Coaches poll. Unless I missed something.

I don't see a team in the MAC that competes with Ohio at this juncture. Ball State will be the only serious competition for the 'Cats, and that Saturday game in Muncie will be super important. I envision the girls winning the tournament again, but Ball State is the only serious competition.

As for an at-large bid? I don't see it. The MAC is weak this year (Akron and CMU taking steps back) and nobody had any impressive non-conference schedules. I firmly believe the tournament is the only way (for any MAC team for that matter) to reach the NCAA Tournament.

There are a few other competitive teams beside Ball State that, on a given night- well you know the rest. Central came down here and we never led the entire game until OT. They should have won that game. They and some other teams have rpi's under 100. Having said that, simply put, if Ohio plays its A game or close to that they win. They are a fun team to watch and they keep getting better.

How's Kelly Karlis doing? She had some points tonight. Will her contributions continue to grow?

Kelly has been picking up her game of late. Last night against 'Kron, in 16 minutes she had 9 boards and went 3 for 4 from downtown along with 3 blocks. She's been mixing it up more physically and catching up to the speed of the game. She's finding her baseline drive too. Still lots of room for improvement but it's all heading in the right direction. And only a redshirt frosh.

ESPN's 2/2 update keeps the women as an 11 seed in Louisville, but now has them playing Oklahoma.
