These guys are slipping. 3-game skid including a real head scratcher at Miami. Travon Baker is cooling off. I'm back in the Convo for the first time in two seasons and would love nothing more than for TC to school Maric.

Ohio's improvement has been in baby steps. We still haven't been above .500 in MAC play under Saul; had a shot Tuesday night but couldn't get over the hump. Getting back to .500 vs NIU would be significant, with a trip to so-so BSU after that.

In terms of lining up seeding, it's a big one because it brings NIU back to us instead of ahead of us. I'm with Shaba - I'd like to see Tony have a big game against these guys. I also wouldn't mind seeing some Taylor on Maric to push him around a little and make him work a little to get his points while giving Tony a breather.

Also we have to respect Maric and actually close out on him when he takes perimeter shots. Gotta keep Baker from getting out in transition, so that means rebounding well and avoiding live ball turnovers.

Is there such a thing as a dead ball turnover other than an offensive foul or walking while trying to inbound the ball or inbounding a ball out of bounds?

Actually, those are live ball as well. The ball is live when it is at the disposal of an inbounder.

I think he means live ball as in the ball remains live after the turnover (steals).

Don't forget about the women at 11:30.. Would be nice to see a decent size crowd there for the girls, who are coming off their first MAC loss of the year at Buffalo.

My daughter Andrea '94 (lives in Columbus) and I from North Canton will be arriving early enough to see the women's game.

I remember a game at the Convo vs. Miami when the women's team played just before the men's game. The women's game went to OT, and the Convo was packed with people who got there early to see Trent play. The women's game was a thriller and it was made even better by the raucous crowd. I recall the men's teams and coaches watching the end of the game in the tunnels waiting to come out and warm up.

This surprising to anyone else given the Akron performance?

NIU has lost 3 in a row, including to Miami, and is 1-3 on the road in conference play. Not surprised the home team is favored.

IMO this is the most important game of the season. Win, and Ohio is in position to compete for a first round home game. Lose, and it will be an uphill battle.

We need TC to play at least 30 minutes and for us to improve on our mental toughness. That's all we really need to get the W.

Despite the Huskies' losing streak, this is a good basketball team. To win, we have to play well.

Phillips getting out coached again. Blew another 18 point lead. Third time that has happened this year. Call a god dam timeout!!!! When teams are on a big run. We better start looking at coaches this offseason because this a sad pattern where we blow a big lead with bad shot selection and poor defense every game. Doesn't anyone on this lazy team box out. This team needs to get their heads out of the butts.

Bobcats wake up last six minutes go on a 19-4 run to close it out. Can't lose focus for big parts of the game. We were fortunate to be just down four when we righted the ship. This was the Toledo game, except at home.
